WASHINGTON, DC: British media personality Piers Morgan publicly urged President Donald Trump to avoid launching another strike on Iran as speculation swirled Saturday that the United States and Israel were preparing a major military operation that Morgan warned would unleash “mayhem.”

Morgan sounded the alarm in a post on X as tensions escalated around the possibility of renewed hostilities with Tehran. His warning came after Trump reportedly cut short his weekend plans and returned to Washington, fueling fears of another military escalation.

Piers Morgan warns against possible Iran strike

“All the signs are pointing to the US and Israel launching another huge attack on Iran,” Morgan wrote morning on X, Saturday, May 23. “I urge President Donald Trump not to do it. This war’s been damaging enough without yet more mayhem being unleashed.”

Morgan’s public plea added a new layer to growing anxiety over what could happen next in the region. The comments also stood out because they came amid mounting speculation that the Trump administration was preparing for another confrontation with Tehran despite an existing ceasefire.

The United States and Iran have technically remained in a ceasefire since early April, though it has “been violated repeatedly”. Concerns intensified Friday after Trump reportedly “cancelled his weekend plans in New Jersey and returned to Washington”.

Iran also appeared to react to fears of possible military action. The country reportedly closed airspace over its western region and postponed flights there until Monday amid concerns about a potential United States attack.

Laura Loomer reacts to Iran strike speculation

While Morgan warned about “mayhem”, right-wing influencer Laura Loomer reacted very differently to the speculation surrounding Trump and Iran.

Loomer believed another strike could happen this weekend and appeared enthusiastic about the possibility.

“Part of me wants to go to sleep, but then I feel like if I sleep I will miss the Iranian regime getting glassed for threatening to assassinate Ivanka Trump,” Loomer wrote on X. “Tough decisions.”

Her remarks referenced an alleged assassination plot involving Ivanka Trump that was reportedly covered by the New York Post.

The sharp contrast between Morgan’s warning and Loomer’s reaction underscored the growing divide in right-wing circles as fears mounted over another potential Iran operation. Morgan framed the possibility of renewed military action as a dangerous escalation that could bring more “mayhem,” while Loomer openly welcomed the prospect of another strike.

The speculation comes months after the “first” wave of attacks in late February, which allegedly included the bombing of an Iranian girls’ elementary school that killed 156 civilians, including 120 children.
