NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On January 13, Utah Senator Mike Lee declared his endorsement for Donald Trump as the GOP presidential candidate. He first made the announcement on Fox News appearing on host Laura Ingraham's show, and later shared the update on X.

Sharing the clip of his on-air endorsement, the 52-year-old Republican wrote, "I just endorsed Donald Trump. Whether you like Trump or not, Americans face a binary choice."

"Biden refuses to enforce our border, prosecutes his opponents, & embraces policies that make life unaffordable for hardworking Americans. I’ll take the mean tweets. I choose Trump," he explained.

Joe Scarborough's comments on Mike Lee endorsing Donald Trump

The 'Morning Joe' host reposted Sen Lee's tweet and proceeded to bash him online, highlighting how his endorsed candidate may possibly become a threat to democracy in the United States.

"The mean tweets? Really? That’s all that bothers you?" began Scarborough's tweet.

"What about the promises of a dictatorship, the execution of generals insufficiently loyal, the banning of news outlets insufficiently loyal, the jailing of political opponents, the termination of the US Constitution, the praise of Communist leaders across the globe?" he proceeded to ask.

Mentioning the other Republican presidential hopefuls, the television host concluded, "@NikkiHaley and @GovRonDeSantis don’t promise violent authoritarianism. They are not tyrants-in-waiting. This is not a binary choice and you know it."

Scarborough's claims found no support among the netizens, who proceeded to troll him online in response.

One tweet read, "Literally not one of those things is true. You are the problem Scarborough."

"You described Biden. He endorsed Trump," stated another.

"Every single thing you said didn't happen and won't happen. You are a liar and a fraud," accused a third tweet.

"Why do you send out a hyperbolic tweet like this and expect to be taken seriously as a newsman?" questioned another user.

"Wait, that’s the Biden playbook you’re reading. Try again," jibed a fifth.

"Apparently propaganda isn’t good enough for you anymore. You have moved on to blatantly making things up. The depths you will sink to know no bounds. Are you on that list somewhere too?" commented a sixth, with reference to the Epstein list.
