EAST HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT: A 1-year-old child, identified as Lennox, died in a Connecticut home after being fatally attacked by a Dalmation pit bull mix.

East Hartford police spokesperson officer Marc Caruso said in a news release, per CBS News, that police responded to the incident shortly after 3 pm local time on Wednesday, March 13.

What happened to Lennox?

A GoFundMe account was created by the child’s aunt. The woman, Crystal Rod, said the victim was her sister Keyshla’s “first and only son,” and he was her “first and only nephew.” According to the GoFundMe, the boy was killed on his birthday.

The grieving aunt wrote in the post that she had been talking to her sister on the phone as Keyshla and Lennox were having fun on the trampoline at home.
