June was celebrated as Pride Month. It’s 2024 and yet there are times when sexuality and identity are still talking points in society. Despite the long and arduous journey, strides are being made for equal rights and representation of the LGBTQ+ community. People look for icons and role models and celebrities often serve as beacons in this sphere. In Hollywood itself, there are quite a few celebrities who identify as bisexual. Coming out to the public and fans has been difficult for such stars since they are always in the public eye, however, some of these celebrities have paved the way forward and served as an inspiration to others by revealing what they strongly believe in. Let’s take a look at some of these celebrities.


1 Drew Barrymore

In 2003, Drew Barrymore publicly acknowledged her bisexuality during an interview with Contact Music. "Do I like women sexually? Yeah, I do. Totally. I have always considered myself bisexual," she stated, discussing her sexual attraction towards women. She also expressed admiration for the beauty of both women and men, emphasizing her appreciation for the female form, as per Buzzfeed.


2. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga publicly identified as bisexual during her interview with Barbara Walters in 2009. In 2013, she also informed her fans, "You know what? It’s not a lie that I am bisexual and I like women, and anyone that wants to twist this into ‘she says she’s bisexual for marketing,’ this is a f**king lie. This is who I am and who I have always been.”

Amber Heard has described the difficulty of coming out as bisexual to her parents, who struggled to accept it. "I am from Austin, Texas. My dad is out of central casting Texan. Good Southern man, and I was raised in a religious home," Heard recounted. "And being an outspoken lesbian, atheist, vegetarian, I remember when I told them about my relationship, that I was in love with this woman, and at the beginning of that it was just tears, tears." Heard publicly acknowledged her bisexuality for the first time at GLAAD's 25th Anniversary event in 2010, while she was dating Tasya Van Ree. "I don't label myself one way or another. I have had successful relationships with men and now a woman. I love who I love; it's the person that matters," she stated at that time.

Throughout her career, Cara Delevingne has openly expressed her bisexuality through relationships with both men and women, including Michelle Rodriguez, Harry Styles, and Ashley Benson. In addition to her modeling success, she has leveraged her influence to challenge stereotypes about gender, as per OK Magazine.

In 2015, Kristen Stewart publicly acknowledged her bisexuality, which came several years after her breakup with Robert Pattinson. She further discussed her dating experiences with both men and women in an interview with The Guardian in 2017. “You’re not confused if you’re bisexual,” the ‘Twilight’ star said. “It’s not confusing at all. For me, it’s quite the opposite.”


6. Maren Morris

Maren Morris recently announced her bisexuality on Instagram, expressing her happiness to represent the "B" in LGBTQ+. She wrote, “Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, happy pride”.


7. Evan Rachel Wood

In 2012, Evan Rachel Wood openly declared her bisexuality. In a Twitter post, she mentioned, "I myself am bisexual an have always "joked" about miley giving me gay vibes. Not a bad thing! Just an observation."


8. Alan Cumming

In a 2015 interview with The Advocate, Alan Cumming discussed the complexity of his sexuality, stating it has "never been black and white." "I’m with a man, but I haven’t closed myself off to the fact that I’m still sexually attracted to women," shared the star of 'Instinct'. Cumming further elaborated on his bisexuality on his website's FAQ section, expressing, "I’m not here to change people’s minds about whether they believe in bisexuality. All I’m saying is that I think my sexuality and most people’s sexuality is gray".

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong came out as bisexual in 2015 in his interview with The Advocate. "I mean, it’s something that I’ve always been interested in. I think people are born bisexual, and it’s just that our parents and society kind of veer us off into this feeling of ‘Oh, I can’t.’ They say it’s taboo," said Armstrong. In January, he told People it was "f------ cool" to be called a bisexual icon. He told the Advocate, "I think I’ve always been bisexual. I mean, it’s something that I’ve always been interested in. I think people are born bisexual, and it’s just that our parents and society kind of veer us off into this feeling of ‘Oh, I can’t.’ They say it’s taboo."
