Some people tend to make fun of everyone around them and expect others to take it in a good spirit. However, at times, they forget that their jokes can end up hurting someone's feelings badly and also affect their relationship with that person.

Recently, a person on Reddit's popular 'Am I the A*****e' forum shared that she gave her boyfriend a silent treatment after he joked about her sister’s postpartum body.

Woman gives boyfriend silent treatment for body shaming her sister

The person wrote in the AITA forum that she has been dating her boyfriend, Ryan, for five months he isn’t her usual type of guy and has more of a crude sense of humor. She added that Ryan can be hilarious at times with others and she has to tell him he took the joke too far.

The person wrote in the post, "My older sister just had a baby and she is 3 months postpartum. I was showing Ryan some of our family photos on my phone when we came across a picture of my sister before she was pregnant. My sister has always been the naturally slim and athletic type."

The person added that Ryan looked at the picture and said "That is your sister?!..oof she really blew up." She wrote that her boyfriend then started laughing.

"I was not amused. I told him that was a s****y thing to say and you don’t comment on women’s bodies after they have just given birth. He said he was just kidding around and that me and my sister are both beautiful. I left his place and said I did not feel like talking," the person wrote in the AITA post.

She concluded the post, "Ryan has been texting me, but I have not been responding. I am still pretty pissed at his comment. He is texting me saying I am being childish for ignoring him."

People side with woman who ignored her BF after he joked about her sister's post-partum body

Several internet users sided with the person who made that AITA post and wrote that she gave her boyfriend a silent treatment after he joked about her sister’s postpartum body.

A user commented on the post, "NTA goddamn!!! Unless you're ready for that kind of humor when you potentially have a child with him, then I'd suggest you gtf outta that relationship too. He sounds like a 12 year old bully. How old is this guy?"

A person also stated, "NTA. This is a sneak preview of the treatment you can expect from him if you ever have a child together. Five months into the relationship and he's shown his true colours - time to find someone who doesn't punch down and pass it off as a 'joke'."
