Al Roker celebrates heartwarming holiday moments with granddaughter Sky Clara Laga and 'Today' colleague Hoda Kotb

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Al Roker, the host of 'Today,' facilitated a holiday meeting between his granddaughter and colleague Hoda Kotb.

On Tuesday, January 2, the celebrity posted pictures of 6-month-old Sky Clara Laga enjoying a heartwarming moment with a dear friend.

Roker accompanied his post with the caption, "When Sky met Auntie Hoda." He joyfully welcomed his granddaughter in July 2023, following the arrival of his daughter Courtney Roker and her husband Wesley Laga's precious addition to the family.

Roker and wife Deborah's special holiday plans 

In December, Roker and his wife Deborah Roberts sat with People and talked about their holiday plans with their granddaughter on the sidelines of the 'Root 100 Gala' in New York City.

“You know, there's a new grandbaby. So that's kind of exciting," the 69-year-old began. "It's gonna be a different kind of Christmas. So, very excited.”

Deborah added, “I think for us it's really just family. It's really all about family and our family is so spread out that we don't have to gather as much as we'd like to during the year. So this year it really is just about tight-knit.”

The 'Today' weatherman has a 36-year-old daughter named Courtney with his first wife, Alice Bell. Additionally, he has a 25-year-old daughter named Leila and a 21-year-old son named Nicholas Albert with his second wife, Deborah, who is 63 years old.

Roker's first Thanksgiving with granddaughter Sky

Celebrating his first Thanksgiving with granddaughter Sky, Roker earlier said, "It is magical, it really is."

"The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be 'this thing' and you don’t know; it’s like when they tell you about having your first child. And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? And here she is, 5 lbs, 15 oz 19 inches long, and she’s just perfect," he added.

"I’m telling you, she’s a great sleeper," Roker expressed. "Sleeps for four hours, wakes up, goes to the bathroom, sleeps another four. We’re on the same schedule!"

On Courtney and son-in-law, he said, "You know, Courtney had a [cesarian section], so she’s struggling a little bit with that. And Wes, you know, I think the gravity of being a dad. But he still has that buoyant personality."
