'An amazing set': Internet happy to see Jay Jurden's 'mainstream visibility' on Jimmy Fallon's show
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Jay Jurden's stand-up on 'The Tonight Show' revolved around various topics exclusively for December 23's episode.
He discussed his husband working in cryptocurrency, shared humorous insights about baby boomers being the "best hypocrites," and touched on the subject of straight White men.
Jay Jurden calls 'baby boomers' the 'best hypocrites'
After a heartful cheer, Jay Jurden said, "Hey, y'all. I'm very happy to be here. I'm very excited and very happy because the writers' strike is over, the actors' strike is over, and I can announce to y'all for the first time that I need a job."
Jurden then mentioned that his "husband works in cryptocurrency", added a humorous touch by saying that it was fun because it meant every week he "gets to update him on whether they still have an apartment".
"I talk about him a lot. I get messages about my husband. I got one e-mail. It said, 'Jay, you are so funny. You have such a great smile. Why are you married... to a man? There are so many women in the world. You don't have to live like this. Love, Barbara.'"
Answering the question, he said, "I'm not going to sleep with you, Barbara. I'm not sleeping with a Barbara. Barbara, you shouldn't be in my DMs. You should be on 'The Golden Bachelor.' Barbara -- Barbara, I'm a gay. You need Bengay. Barbara."
In a comedic tone he suggested going easy on 'Barbara', assuming she's a Baby Boomer. He added, "Are there Baby Boomers here?" but getting a silent response from the audience, he quipped, "You hear that? We killed them all".
"No. Stop it! I don't want them dead. I just want property, right? I actually like Baby Boomers. I think they are the best hypocrites," he added.
Jurden's jokes then reeled on to the changing dynamics of society. He mentioned the progression of attitudes towards being gay and playfully acknowledged the evolving understanding of straight White men.
The comedic routine then touched on various topics, from wearing a robe at different ages to societal shifts in acceptance.
