Andre Gordon: New Jersey homeless man accused of killing 3 people including his step-mother and sister
FALLS TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA: Authorities reported that they have finally captured a man who is believed to have killed three people during a violent outburst on Saturday, March 16, in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, before locking himself inside a home in Trenton.
Just before 9 in the morning, Falls Township police responded to reports of gunfire on Viewpoint Lane, which is where it all started.
Authorities said that Andre Gordon Jr, 26, forced his way inside the house, shot two people dead, and then drove off in a car that had been stolen in Trenton earlier in the day.
Andre Gordon has been accused of killing Karen and Kera Gordon
The victims have been identified as Gordon's 52-year-old stepmother Karen Gordon and 13-year-old sister Kera Gordon. According to Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn, three other individuals, including a minor, were also inside the house when the shooting happened.
Gorden then drove to an Edgewood Lane home at around nine in the morning and killed Taylor Daniel, 25, a mother of two, according to the authorities. There were four people inside the house.
Gordon reportedly injured one person, FOX26 reported.
After leaving the scene, he allegedly carjacked a 44-year-old male driver outside a Dollar General on Bristol Pike in Morrisville at gunpoint at approximately 9:15 am, the police said.
He fled the scene in the driver's dark gray Honda CRV. Soon after, the police announced that the vehicle had been discovered abandoned in Trenton and that SWAT teams had gathered at a neighboring house to look for Gordon.
Gordon is thought to have locked himself inside a house close to Trenton's 100 block of Miller Street, where the carjacked car was found.
According to information provided to authorities, Gordon may have held several people hostage inside.
After some time, police verified that everyone inside the house had been taken to safety and were unharmed. Gordon was arrested at about 5 pm.
Andre Gordon believed to have known all his victims
By mid-afternoon, police had cordoned off the block around the house and were yelling at Gordon over a loudspeaker to come outside. "Andre, get away from the windows. If you would like to surrender, dial 911 now," they said.
It was later determined by the police that Gordon was not present in the Phillips Avenue home. Gordon allegedly knew every victim who was shot to death, according to the police.
He has connections to Trenton, New Jersey, and is also thought to be homeless at the moment.
Authorities think he is connected to the house they had surrounded by police. Authorities said they were still unable to speculate on the attacks' motivation.
"Nothing that would indicate that anything like this would happen," Falls Township Police Chief Nelson Whitney stated at a press conference, although Gordon had had a few minor run-ins with the law.
Around 9:30 am, a shelter-in-place order was issued to Falls Township residents via phone and mobile alert, which was lifted by 12:30 pm.
Due to the shelter-in-place order, the Bucks County St Patrick's Day Parade was canceled, and several nearby businesses temporarily closed.
