Angelina Jolie’s rumored boyfriend Akala has introduced her to his friends and relatives, claims source

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Akala and Angelina Jolie's mutual appreciation of history and his wealth of knowledge have reportedly brought them close to each other, with insiders revealing to the Daily Mail that the British rapper has introduced the Oscar winner to his friends and family.

Although neither the 49-year-old 'Maria' actress nor the 40-year-old novelist and political activist have confirmed their relationship, sources have stated that they are "seeing each other and hanging out regularly".

This story followed Jolie's contentious separation from Brad Pitt, who has been dating Ines de Ramon for the past two years.

According to insiders, Angelina Jolie and Akala became close because of their mutual appreciation of history and his vast knowledge, which is inspiring her as she looks for ideas for her next project.

In addition to introducing Jolie to his family, Akala has been teaching her about the history of Black culture in Britain and its colonial past.

A source told the Mail, "Akala has been teaching Angelina Jolie a lot about Black British history as she looks for new source material for films."

"He introduced her to the Kelso Cochrane story. She is a keen historian so there have been a lot of conversations about Olive Morris and Kelso," the source added.

The insider said Akala "loves how fearless and independent" Jolie is, despite the fact that neither the actress nor the rapper have publicly acknowledged their relationship.

Akala, whose sister is the famous British musician Ms Dynamite, has also introduced Jolie to some of his closest friends and relatives, the insider revealed.

The insider said of the duo, "They are seeing each other and hanging out regularly and Akala loves how fearless and independent she is."

Both appeared separately at the London Film Festival.

"They were introduced through a charitable venture they were both supporting, and Angelina has been interested in learning more about his activism and loves his sister's music," added the source.

They even claimed that Akala is dating his business partner Chanelle Newman.

This latest turn in Jolie and Akala's relationship coincided with a report that claimed they hung out at her London hotel.

"Angelina and Akala have been secretly spending nights together at her London hotel, The Corinthia," a source told The Sun on Monday, October 21.

The source said, "Angelina arrived at the hotel via the loading bay at around 8 pm on Wednesday before being joined by Akala at around 10 pm. The pair spent Wednesday and Thursday night together inside the hotel and did not leave."

It has been reported that Akala and Jolie's romance is "the real deal", even though they were "using separate cars and secret entrances to keep their relationship under wraps."

Apart from their last excursion, Jolie and Akala were photographed on September 29 at the New York Film Festival. Even Jolie's 20-year-old son Pax, whom she shares with her ex-husband Pitt, was spotted with them.

According to reports, Jolie and Akala became closer following her acrimonious divorce from Pitt, and their romance blossomed five years after she was officially proclaimed single.

A different source said in 2023, "They share the same passion when it comes to social and humanitarian causes. They did several collabs over the years that focus on global issues like human rights. Angie speaks very highly of him."

Rumors that the two were dating began to circulate after Akala attended the Calabash Literary Festival in Jamaica in May 2023 with Jolie and her daughters, Shiloh, 18, and Zahara, 19.
