Anna Paquin walks 'A Bit Of Light' premiere red carpet with cane amid ongoing health struggles, Internet wishes her 'fast recovery'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Anna Paquin was recently seen making a red carpet appearance after nearly two years of being out of the public eye.

The 41-year-old actress, who has been suffering from some unrevealed illness, was joined by her husband Stephen Moyer as she went for the ‘A Bit Of Light’ movie premiere at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City Wednesday, April 3, PEOPLE reported.

Anna Paquin says her ‘first love was independent filmmaking’

As per reports, Paquin was last publicly seen in October 2022 during an event.

The ‘American Underdog’ star, who looked stunning in a black long-sleeve sequined dress and black stockings, shared with PEOPLE that dealing with mobility problems due to an undisclosed condition “hasn't been easy”. But despite all this, she expressed her gratitude for still being able to work.

She shared, “My first love was independent filmmaking. That's how I entered the film industry.”

“I was working with people who were all about telling stories and telling them with integrity and truth,” Paquin added.

Elsewhere during the appearance, the Academy Award-winning star also spoke about motherhood while speaking about her character of an alcoholic mother in ‘A Bit Of Light’.

She asserted, “Not everyone ends up having the journey with motherhood that they have hoped or had planned. We're all flawed and imperfect, and Ella is kind of on some level repeating some sort of familial patterns as far as stuffing feelings down.”

“It's very relatable because there's so many ways that people can get in their own way, or sort of learn to cope with trauma,” Paquin noted.
