HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNEAPOLIS:  A girl, Amy Lynn Modrow, who was nine years old, died because her parents didn't call for an ambulance when she was having an asthma attack. She turned blue during the attack.

Amy died on February 17 at a hospital in Minneapolis after spending a week in the ICU. Doctors said she was braindead as per DailyMail.

Her parents, Anthony and Rachel Modrow, who are both 34 years old, were charged with second-degree manslaughter on April 17.

How did the parents react after Amy died in hospital?

The tragic death of the little girl occurred as Amy's father reportedly forgot to refill her asthma inhaler for a whole month, and instead of calling for help, her mother gave her a steam bath.

While Amy was sick in the hospital, her parents shared updates on social media and asked for money. They raised over $10,000.

After Amy died, her mother posted on Twitter, tagging a famous wrestler and sharing about Amy's love for her. She also posted a sad photo of Amy in the hospital.

She wrote on X, “My 9-year-old just passed away, she was one of your biggest fans. You made such an impact on her. You were her hero. Thank you for giving her someone to look up to. She always wanted to go to Wrestlemania.”

Amy's dad also shared his sadness on Facebook after she died. He talked about how much he missed her and how hard it was for him.

“It's official Amy hasn't had any sedation and hasn't woke up. She is brain-dead. They are giving her till Sunday for organ donation. I need to go home. It hurts so much. I said goodbye.”

He added, “Going to my job with the kids and Amy's memories hurts. Going home to where she died. I'm not doing well.”

He concluded, “Use[d] to be a proud homeowner. Now I rather look into selling and look at the bus build I should have been doing after Amy graduated. My house is eating me alive.”

How did Amy Lynn’s loved ones react?

Amy's friend's mom grew concerned when Amy's inhaler, initially prescribed for her grandmother, failed to alleviate her symptoms. Contacting Amy's dad, who deferred to Amy's mom, she urged them to bring Amy home. Recognizing Amy's genuine illness, she offered to accompany them to a doctor, but Amy's mom declined.

Early the next morning, Amy reached out to her mom for her medication. Upon returning home, Amy's condition had worsened, yet her mom delayed seeking help. It wasn't until a family friend witnessed the severity of Amy's illness that emergency services were called. Unfortunately, the ambulance took considerable time to arrive.

Amy's dad recalled Amy mentioning her inhaler was empty a month before her passing, indicating they had neglected to refill it. Medical professionals emphasized that immediate hospitalization could have improved Amy's chances and discredited the effectiveness of a steam bath for asthma attacks.

Facing legal repercussions, the parents were informed they would need to pay $25,000 to leave court and be placed under house arrest.
