LAS VEGAS, NEVADA:  Pennsylvania resident Arthur 'Art' Eugene Guty Jr, 55, who was once at the center of a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his ex-wife, has this time found himself on the wrong side of the law.

Guty was arrested on Tuesday, January 2, in Las Vegas, following the discovery of his missing second wife Nicole Zambrano, 26, lifeless body at their Uniontown home on New Year's Day.

Timeline of Nicole Zambrano's tragic fate

Victim Nicole, a Venezuelan woman married to Guty for less than a year, was reported missing by her co-workers after she uncharacteristically failed to show up for work for several days. The 26-year-old, who last communicated with her family on Christmas Eve, had not been seen by neighbors since then, intensifying concerns about her whereabouts, as per WTAE.

A welfare check initiated last Friday eventually led investigators to Nicole's lifeless body on Monday, January 1, prompting authorities to consider Guty as the prime suspect. The developments in the case took a critical turn when Nicole was discovered shot in a vital part of her body, leading to a homicide warrant against Guty.

Subsequently, the 55-year-old was arrested and is expected to be held as a fugitive in Nevada until his extradition to Pennsylvania to face charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault.

Uniontown Police Lt. Thomas Kolencik revealed that Guty's responses during questioning raised suspicions, with the husband even falsely claiming to a neighbor that the couple was headed to the Grand Canyon. Moreover, neighbor, Bob Luick, disclosed that the husband had angrily suspected Nicole of infidelity just a month ago, stating, "If I find out she's messing around, I'll kill her."

Arthur Eugene Guty's troubled past

This shocking murder case takes a disturbing turn as it unravels Guty's tumultuous past. In 2019, his ex-wife, Roxanne Guty, was suspected of attempting to hire a hitman three times to kill him, allegedly discussing the choice of weapon in one instance.

Nevertheless, Roxanne was arrested after her plan with the would-be assassin fell through. Despite facing charges, her case was resolved with a no-contest plea to a misdemeanor of recklessly endangering another person in February 2021.
