LAURENS, SOUTH CAROLINA: In a shocking turn of events, a 38-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man, identified as Ashley T Greene and Terry B Anderson, respectively, have been denied bond following allegations of their involvement in the brutal murder of Ashley's husband last month.

The Laurens Police Department initiated the investigation after responding to a report of a natural death on January 22 at a duplex on Church Street, where officers discovered 52-year-old Vadis Greene dead.

Autopsy reveals blunt force trauma

Initially presumed to be a natural death, the autopsy results unveiled a shocking truth. Greene's demise was determined to be a homicide resulting from blunt force trauma.

Detectives, after conducting multiple interviews and obtaining search warrants, officially identified Ashley and Anderson as the primary suspects.

Laurens PD has charged Ashley with murder in connection with her husband's death, while Anderson faces similar charges for his alleged involvement in the incident.

An update provided by the Laurens Police Department on March 1 revealed that the bond for the accused duo was denied, and they are currently held in the Laurens County Detention Center as the investigation unfolds.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the case to contact Detective Sergeant Sellers at 864-984-3532 or via email at bsellers@cityoflaurenssc.com.

Teen arrested in fatal shooting of Lyft driver and former US Army interpreter

In an unrelated incident, a 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the tragic shooting death of Nasrat Ahmad Yar, a 31-year-old Lyft driver and former US Army interpreter.

Ahmad Yar was fatally shot on July 3, 2023, while working to support his family after dropping off a passenger. Surveillance footage played a crucial role in identifying the suspects who approached him, attempted to seize his vehicle, and ultimately shot him, reported MEAWW.

Despite the recent arrest of the teenager on March 1, several other suspects involved in the homicide are still at large, prompting a plea from Assistant Chief Leslie Parsons for the community to provide any relevant information to aid in solving the case.
