JEFFERSON COUNTY, ALABAMA: With the death of 16-year-old actor Hudson Joseph Meek, the world lost a young talent and a kind soul who was best known for his role in 'Baby Driver.'
Now, his family has shared a heartbreaking tribute following his tragic death in Alabama on the night of December 21, just two days after he suffered critical injuries in an accident.

'Baby Driver' star Hudson Meek’s family pays tribute after tragic loss
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Meek sustained blunt force trauma after being ejected from a moving vehicle on December 19.
While details surrounding the incident remain unclear, the Vestavia Hills Police Department has confirmed an ongoing investigation.
Meek was rushed to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he died, surrounded by family and friends.
"Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight," wrote his mother Lani Wells Meek in a poignant tribute on Facebook.
"His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met," she said.
Family establishes memorial scholarship to celebrate Hudson Meek's legacy
In honor of his memory, the Meek family is establishing the Hudson J Meek Memorial Scholarship at Vestavia Hills High School, where he was a beloved student.
"Specific details regarding a Celebration of Hudson’s Life to be held on December 28, as well as how to contribute to a scholarship in Hudson’s memory at Vestavia Hills High School in lieu of flowers, will follow," the family shared.
Hudson’s death has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his loved ones. His obituary noted his peaceful death surrounded by those who cherished him most.
He is survived by his parents, Derek Firth Meek and Lani Wells Meek; his older brother, Tucker Firth Meek; and his grandmothers, Margaret Green Meek and Faye Searcy Wells.
The family’s statement urged the community to "please pray for our family and friends as we all process this sudden and tragic loss."
