WASHINGTON, DC: On Thursday, May 16, President Joe Biden sent out a statement of intent seemingly deriding former President Donald Trump in light of the news that all major stock market indexes, including the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq, had reached new record highs this week, according to MeidasTouch.

Following the historic milestone of the Dow surpassing 40,000 for the first time, the 81-year-old incumbent president shared a video contrasting Trump's stock market fear-mongering during the 2020 election with the significant stock market growth under the Biden administration in 2024.

What did Joe Biden say in his response to Donald Trump’s bleak forecasting?

The POTUS shared the video on X, which shows Trump addressing a rally in 2020, where he said, "If Biden wins, you're going to have a stock market collapse the likes of which you've never had."

The video then swiftly transitions to news reports highlighting the thriving stock market and strong economy, accompanied by lively music.

It also includes glowing endorsements of the stock market from Fox Business, a network favored by the former president.

Biden captioned the video with, "Good one, Donald."

The Commander-in-Chief in a separate post, said, "This is great news for Americans’ retirement accounts and another sign of confidence in America’s economy."

"I’m building an economy from the middle out and bottom up – and our investments are making a difference," he claimed.
