Brandon King murders his girlfriend
As reported by Law&Crime, officers from the Missouri Police Department swiftly responded to a 911 call at 12:47 pm on December 31, 2020, concerning an assault on a juvenile girl at a residence in the 2000 block of West Scott Street.
Upon arrival, the police discovered two girls, aged 14 and 7, both of whom had been stabbed.
The injuries sustained by the 14-year-old were deemed life-threatening, necessitating immediate transportation to a hospital for urgent medical care.
Subsequently, authorities found two additional victims, a woman identified as Stephanie Plumb who is the girlfriend of the accused, and a 13-year-old boy identified as Dylan Moore.
Significantly, both Plumb and Dylan displayed life-threatening stab wounds, and they were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A witness informed the police that he observed a bald white male fleeing the area before their arrival. Numerous calls reported a man fitting that description, wearing "bloody clothing," in the proximity of the crime scene.
This information guided the police to swiftly locate and apprehend King, who was 29 years old at the time.
The murders took place after King, having become aware of imminent criminal charges in a nearby county, admitted to planning a robbery at his girlfriend's home, where Plumb resided.
Charges placed on Brandon King
Following the brutal killing spree on New Year's Eve in 2020, Circuit Judge Kaiti Greenwade mandated that King be sentenced to four life terms.
Despite being slated for a trial in the upcoming year, King opted to plead guilty to two charges of first-degree murder, two charges of first-degree assault resulting in serious physical injury, and four charges of armed criminal action.
Furthermore, Greenwade directed King to serve two sentences of life without parole for the murders, two life sentences with the possibility of parole for the assaults, and four sentences of 15 years each for the charges related to armed criminal actions.
Brandon King shares statements to police
King informed the police that on December 30, 2020, he made the decision to eliminate everyone in the house due to the impending charge he was facing in Christian County. His plan was to flee the state.
Additionally, King mentioned his awareness of some money in his girlfriend's house that he intended to take, along with a desire to steal her van.
The motive behind the decision to commit multiple murders was King's reluctance to leave any witnesses to the planned theft.
According to King's account, he initiated the violent acts by killing the 13-year-old boy and proceeding to the 14-year-old.
The girl, however, resisted, alerting Plumb, who intervened to protect her daughter and tragically lost her life in the process.
Subsequently, when Plumb's 7-year-old entered to assist her mother, King reportedly assaulted the young girl as well, expressing his intention to kill her.
His plan was thwarted when a neighbor, armed with a gun, kicked in the front door, prompting King to flee.
