HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: After over two months since a baby's body was found in a bag inside a dumpster in Hollywood, authorities have apprehended the baby's mother and a man linked to the incident.
The 36-year-old mother of the baby, Brenda Feliciano, and Terence Briggance Warren, aged 59, were both detained on Thursday, March 14, by Hollywood Police.
They face charges of neglecting to report a death to the medical examiner. Additionally, Warren is accused of improperly disposing of a body, as detailed in an arrest affidavit.
Police found baby's body in dumpster
According to NBC6 South Florida, on the morning of January 8, a baby's body was discovered inside a dumpster located outside an apartment building in the 1700 block of Rodman Street, concealed within a reusable Aldi bag.
Police were alerted to the situation via a 911 call from a roofing company official whose employee had stumbled upon the body.
The caller emphasized the distressing discovery, claiming that they had found "a child in a dumpster".
Upon arrival, authorities found the baby boy and pronounced him dead at the scene. The affidavit mentioned that the baby seemed to be in good health and showed no visible signs of injury or trauma.
It's important to note that the affidavit does not provide details about Warren, the man who was also arrested in connection with the baby's death.
However, it does state that he neglected to report the baby's death to the medical examiner on January 7 and moved or disposed of the body without proper authorization.
Police found surveillance footage evidence against Terence Warren
Detectives located Terence Warren by analyzing surveillance footage that captured him driving a white Kia Sorrento to the apartment building, retrieving a bag from the passenger window, and then discarding it into the dumpster, as detailed in an arrest warrant.
Furthermore, detectives discovered traces of blood on the front side passenger seat.
Examination of Warren's cellphone revealed a text message from Feliciano dated January 2, where she said that she was nearing pregnancy term. She exclaimed, "I'm almost f***ing 40 weeks pregnant. What are you talking about!"
Subsequently, detectives connected Feliciano to the DNA found on the handles of the Aldi bag.
Notably, Feliciano had previously been apprehended by Hollywood Police in early February on an unrelated narcotics warrant.
