NORTH PORT, FLORIDA: In an answer to a lawsuit filed against them, Brian Laundrie's parents, Christopher Laundrie and Roberta Laundrie, stated that they were unaware of their son killing Gabby Petito as well as the location where her body was dumped.

In late November, Gabby's parents, Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, filed an amended lawsuit against Brian's parents as he allegedly called them and told them about murdering his girlfriend.

Brian Laundrie's parents deny knowing the details of their son's

One of the most recent disclosures was that, on August 29, 2021, Brian apparently told his parents over the phone in a "frantic" manner that Gavvy had "gone" and that he required legal representation.

According to the lawsuit, Christopher and Roberta may have known where the body was found and that their son had killed his 22-year-old fiancee while traveling cross-country in a van.

The Laundries refuted this in their response, which was submitted on Friday, December 8, to Sarasota County, Florida.

Gabby's disappearance was not disclosed to her parents until September 11, 2021, when she was reported missing to the authorities.

Brian Laundrie's parents apparently attempted to arrange for their son to flee the country

Authorities surmise that on August 27, 2021, Brian killed his fiancee Gabby, and on September 1, he drove her van to his parents' house.

It was not until September 19, 2021, at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping area in Wyoming, that her remains were discovered, as per Law & Crime.

In March 2022, Gabby's parents filed a lawsuit against Christopher and Roberta, claiming that their 23-year-old son, Brian, had told them that he had killed his girlfriend while on vacation in Wyoming.

The Laundries apparently not only failed to tell Joseph and Nichole about this information but also attempted to arrange for their son to flee the country.

Moreover, the third amended complaint upholds earlier claims that the Laundries concealed information, including going on vacation, about their knowledge of Gabby's whereabouts and that their son had killed her.

The complaint stated, "After Brian Laundrie murdered Gabrielle Petito, Brian Laundrie sent text messages back and forth between his cell phone and Gabrielle Petito’s cell phone in an effort to hide the fact that she was deceased."

It adds, "On August 27, 2021, it is believed that Brian Laundrie sent a text to Nichole Schmidt in which he referred to Gabrielle Petito’s grandfather, Stan, by name. Gabrielle Petito never called her grandfather by his name."

After returning home to Florida, Brian Laundrie committed suicide.
