‘Bridgerton’ cast transformation: How Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton and others changed since Season 1
Here's how the 'Bridgerton' characters have changed since Season 1
It has been three seasons (four, if you consider 'Queen Charlotte' as well) since 'Bridgerton' has made its smashing debut on Netflix. While some of the characters, including the Duke and Daphne from the first season, have left the show, there are plenty of other characters who have completed three seasons. In these seasons, several characters have undergone the proverbial Bridgerton glow-up as well. Scroll ahead to check how the beloved characters changed over the seasons.
1. Nicola Coughlan - Penelope Featherington
Nicola Coughlan's Penelope Featherington is the diamind of the third season, and nobody can deny that. As the Featherington daughter finally found her match in the dashing Colin Bridgerton, she too had to went through the glow up phase. Trading her signature bright yellow dresses for the pastel and occasional jewel tones, Penelope emerged as the polished gem that she is. Season 3 also witnessed her swapping her curls in favor of her wavy hair left open over her shoulders.
2. Luke Newton - Colin Bridgerton
If Penelope went through the transformation, can Colin be far behind? The jovial younger brother of Viscount Bridgerton not only fell in love but also learned to take responsibility. The green youth of the first season is now a world traveller and a married man. Well, these demand for some serious transformation!
3. Jonathan Bailey - Anthony Bridgerton
Lord Anthony Bridgerton, or Viscount Bridgerton, popularly known as Ton, went through his remarkable transformation in the last season itself. Anthony - played by Jonathan Bailey - is not only the man of the family and is a respected nobleman but also a married man! Gone are the days when he used to be a wastrel! With Anthony's side burns and unkempt hair gone, he is now a model husband to Kate and brother to the Bridgerton clan.
4. Luke Thompson - Benedict Bridgerton
Luke Thompson's Benedict is still waiting for his happily-ever-after. But that did not prevent Thompson from undergoing a massive change. The artist soul of the clan is now engaged in a scandalous affair with the widow Lady Tilly, and that warrants a breathtaking appearance. With Benedict speculated to be the leading man in the fourth season, the second eldest Bridgerton went through a roller-coaster ride in terms of his self-exploration in the third season.
5. Claudia Jessie - Eloise Bridgerton
Eloise Bridgerton is the upfront and vivacious Bridgerton sister. She has probably undergone the maximum transformations in the these three seasons. After being introduced to the audiencer as a child, Eloise made her societal debut in the second season. By the third season, she has entered the society and befriended Cressida Cowper. As Eloise grew from a young girl to a mature woman, her sartorial choices too have undergone the similar transformation.
6. Adjoa Andoh - Lady Danbury
Lady Danbury is probably one of the most steady characters in the show. Adjoa Andoh's Lady Danbury was, is, and always be there in 'Bridgerton' with her flamboyant style and outspoken worldview.
7. Golda Rosheuvel - Queen Charlotte
Nothing much has changed with Queen Charlotte except probably her elaborate wigs. While the Queen has always been the centre of attention in any gathering, her wigs have started gaining notice more in this season. With the twin swan wig in the third season, even the queen has outdone herself.
8. Ruth Gemmell - Violet Bridgerton
Mama Bridgerton or Violet was introduced as the young mother of eight children in the first season. As the series is progressed, the character portrayed by Ruth Gemmell has embraced grandmotherhood. Naturally, with four of her eight children married at the end of Season 3, Violet is more relaxed and hopefully ready to tend her garden (pun intended).
