LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears and her father Jamie Spears' long-running disagreement continues to persist, years after the conservatorship ended in November 2021, and Jamie alleges in new filings that Britney is to blame for it.

According to recent court filings, Jamie Spears, the father of the Princess of Pop, has accused his daughter of prolonging their conservatorship trial by stalling.

Jamie asked the presiding court not to give a stay in the case because that would result in a continuance, delaying the start of the trial until a later time, per Daily Mail.

Jamie Spears accuses Britney Spears of using stall tactics in conservatorship trial

Jamie Spears, 71, accused his daughter Britney, 41, of stalling to cause a delay, in recent court records obtained by The Blast on Wednesday, February 7.

He said that he doubts there will be a global settlement to his conflict with Britney, and that he does not want the trial to be postponed since there was no agreement reached during mediation later this month.

The recent court documents read: "There is no reason to stay any portion of the case (as the Court acknowledged at the January 5, 2024 hearing) and there is certainly no basis for staying briefing or any other activity that in any way relates to Jamie’s pending summary judgment motion set for hearing on April 12, 2024."

"The parties have had months (indeed, years) to discuss settlement. They have not settled. Imposing a stay simply because there is a February 23, 2024 meditation seems certain to result in a trial continuance should the parties not settle at mediation," the document further continued.

The filing additionally mentioned that there has been approximately three years since March 26, 2021, when Jamie initially filed his Petition for Order Allowing and Approving Payment of Compensation to Conservator and Attorneys for Conservative and Reimbursement of Costs.

However, it appears that Britney's supporters are fully backing her, amid the information she revealed in her tell-all memoir 'The Woman In Me', published in October 2023, about her conservatorship.

Britney is scheduled to start mediation sessions with her father later this month. During the conservatorship, Britney claimed she was forced to give up her "freedom" to see her children.

Britney Spears claimed her father Jamie exploited her for 'cash flow'

Britney made several allegations against her father in her memoir, 'The Woman In Me,' including the allegation that he informed her, "I'm Britney Spears now."

She described in her book how her father thought she was "too sick to choose my own boyfriend and yet somehow healthy enough to appear on sitcoms and morning shows, and to perform for thousands of people in a different part of the world every week".

Britney wrote in an excerpt from her memoir, published by PEOPLE magazine: "I became a robot. But not just a robot — a sort of child-robot. I had been so infantilized that I was losing pieces of what made me feel like myself."

"The conservatorship stripped me of my womanhood, made me into a child. I became more of an entity than a person onstage. I had always felt music in my bones and my blood; they stole that from me."

"Meanwhile, Britney consistently tries to delay," Jamie stated in his court filings, claiming: "Britney wasted over two years with motion practice regarding the threatened deposition of non-party Robin Greenhill, had the deposition set for January 29, 2024, and unilaterally canceled the deposition the Friday afternoon before the deposition (apparently concluding that the deposition was pointless)."

"The Court cautioned the parties that it will not continue trial. The parties have already spent one month waiting for meditation and waiting for rulings on the outstanding discovery disputes. Every day is critical to ensure the case continues to progress and is ready for trial without the need for a continuance."

"Accordingly, Jamie requests the Court does not stay this action pending the upcoming mediation and maintains the firm trial dates," Jamie concluded.

The trial scheduled for June 2024 will decide Jamie's petition.
