Furlan rose to fame with brief sketches on the social networking site that shut down permanently in 2016. On the podcast 'How to Talk to Girls', Furlan revealed that the celebrity dating app Raya is where she and her rock star husband initially connected in 2017. She recalled, "I matched with him and he was just so persistent." The two eventually decided to meet in person. "It was like a week later we ended up meeting up, we were both working Pride fest … I went up and tapped him on the shoulder, and he just gave me the biggest, warmest hug, and he held my hand," Furlan said and added, "We were just together ever since then."

In a June 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Furlan discussed her battles with mental health. She recalled self-harming and experiencing anxiety episodes. Following her hospitalization, the social media celebrity began taking the antidepressant Effexor, which she claims completely changed her life. "I just felt very alone when I was younger. Because depression runs in my family and the mental illness, I think it just hit me really hard when I was 16. I wanted to die, but I didn’t really have strength to fully kill myself," Furlan remarked at the time.
