LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Charlie Sheen revealed that he is approaching a significant milestone in his life as he shared, "Next month I'll be six years sober."

Speaking to People, the actor spoke about his life which he has begun to feel good about. "I have a very consistent lifestyle now," Sheen added.

Charlie Sheen shares his lifestyle changes

Opening up about his current lifestyle, the 'Two and a Half Men' actor said, "It's all about single dad stuff, and raising my 14-year-old twin boys Max and Bob."

Brooke Mueller, mother of the twin boys and ex-wife Sheen has been dealing with her struggles with addiction. "Now I wake up early, around 4.30 or 5 am, get an early jump on the news, work out, answer emails," Sheen said of his mornings.

He then laughingly said, "Then I get the kids up and help them with their morning routine — if you can call it a routine."

Charlie Sheen says he 'loved drinking in the morning' in the past

As Sheen speaks about his current consistent lifestyle, his past lifestyle included drunken mornings. "I loved drinking in the morning. Loved some scotch in the coffee" Sheen said of his past habit.

"One morning I'd forgotten my daughter had an appointment I'd promised to drive her to, and I'd already had a couple of pops that day," Sheen said referring to his daughters, Sami, 19, and Lola, 18 he shared his ex-wife Denise Richards.

"So had to call my friend Tony to take us. We got her there on time, but it broke my heart because she was in the backseat and I could just tell she was thinking, 'Why isn't dad driving?' So I got home and sat with that for the rest of the day," he said.

"And the next morning I just stopped," Sheen added saying that he has not looked back since.

Charlie Sheen speaks about how deaddiction helped him feel better

Explaining how his life was after he chose sobriety, Sheen said, "I think the first month I was like, I'm going to have give it a month, just see if I feel any better, and if my interactions with those that are closest to me improve."

"And they did. And I'm like, all right, I'm going to go another month. And then it got traction. I had momentum," he continued, adding "There was just instant evidence that this was the side I needed to be on. I couldn't be in denial about it anymore."

The 'Mad Families' actor is now making his comeback to television as he has now guest starred as himself on 'Brookie', a new dark dramedy by Chuck Lorre.

"For the longest time, I had the best work reputation. I was the first to arrive, last to leave, when in doubt, I would over-prepare," he said.

"I would just check every box. And then that went away. So I was really excited about being that guy again," Sheen said of his return to the industry.
