NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie made an appearance on ‘Morning Joe’ in conversation with host Joe Scarborough, the morning after the fourth GOP debate in Alabama.

Much like after the third GOP debate, Christie has mentioned former President Donald Trump this time too, both on the debate stage and on ‘Morning Joe.’

Following his conversation with Scarborough, Christie has faced some backlash on X, formerly known as Twitter, after the GOP candidate spoke about Trump being “unfit” by his age and temperament.

Chris Christie takes a dig at Donald Trump

‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough and former New Jersey governor Chris Christie talked about the GOP debate in Alabama, fellow Republican candidates, and even President Joe Biden before the topic shifted to former President Donald Trump.

Scarborough asked, “Let me ask you, would you not say the same thing about Donald Trump if you believe that about that Joe Biden…has father time caught up with Donald Trump? So baffled his brain…so stirred his brain that he thinks he is running against Brack Obama and is worried about World War 2 starting.”

Christie chuckled as his response was prompt and he said, “I said last night Joe, and I was the only one who would be willing to say he is unfit for office.”

The GOP candidate continued, “So absolutely, I will repeat it again this morning. He is unfit not only by his age, but he's unfit by his temperament. When you say 'I am your retribution,’ You and I know him really well, he ain't gonna be my retribution or yours, he will only be his own retribution because the only person he cares about is himself, and that’s it.”

Christie also claimed that Trump “doesn’t care about the American people, not one bit.”

Internet reacts to Chris Christie’s claims against Donald Trump

After Chris Christie talked about how “unfit” Donald Trump was for office on ‘Morning Joe,’ the internet was quick to respond. One user wrote, “Put a fork in Chris! He is done!”

“The irony of Christie talking about fitness,” mocked one user, and another said, “Stop giving forums to Chris Christie. He is as much of a crook as Trump.”

One user wrote, “Joe, you and Christie are ridiculous. Stop spreading nonsense!” and another said, “Christie is a nasty slob.”

“@GovChristie oh look you're over here spewing your hatred also. Sit down. You will never be POTUS! And WHEN Trump does get back into office I hope he never lets you step one foot in our White House,” expressed one user.
