Christopher Facey: New Mexico man kills GF’s husband after running over him with truck during brawl

BERNALILO COUNTY, NEW MEXICO: Police arrested a New Mexico man, Christopher Facey, who is a former Bernalillo County corrections officer. He is accused of running over his girlfriend’s husband and killing him during a confrontation at a dog park on Friday, January 12.
Facey, 33, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his girfriend’s husband, whose is identified as Guadalupe Maldonado, according to the Albuquerque Police Department, per The Messenger .
What did Christopher Facey do?
On Friday, January 12, Facey was allegedly in his pickup truck with the victim’s wife at the Santa Fe Village Dog Park. The two were discussing "their jobs" and "their futures" a little while after they got to the park when Maldonado drove up to his vehicle with a friend and confronted them, police said.
According to what his wife told the police, Maldonado went over to the driver's side of the car, opened the door, and said, "What the f**k is this?"
As per Law and Crime, Facey was urged to leave by the woman, but Maldonado allegedly moved in front of Facey's truck and stood there.
Victim was pronounced dead at hospital
Christopher Facey then allegedly stepped on the gas, ran over Maldonado, and fled the scene.
Maldonado's wife and friends took him to the hospital and but he was declared dead, police said.
Maldonado's wife identified Facey as the suspect. Facey was arrested on Saturday, January 13. It's unknown if he hired a lawyer to speak on his behalf or if he entered a plea to the accusation.
Facey is a former Bernalillo County corrections officer, according to the Abq Journal .
He was previously sentenced to probation after he assaulted an inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center, forcing the county to settle for $70,000, according to the journal. Additionally, he separated from the county in 2021.
