NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On the January 30 episode of 'Fox & Friends', co-host Steve Doocy welcomed Piers Morgan to share his take on climate activists throwing pumpkin soup at the Mona Lisa in Louvre, Paris.

The incident took place on January 28. Two women were caught on video calling for the right to "healthy and sustainable food", reported the BBC.

Piers Morgan calls activists 'moaning Lisas'

The 'Fox Nation' host began by terming the protestors as "utter imbeciles", and went on to share that coincidentally, he was in Paris during the weekend.

"I've been to the Louvre many times to see the Mona Lisa, it's arguably the most famous painting in the world. But these two people, these 'moaning Lisas' as I would like to call them, they were trying to make a protest…to raise awareness of food hunger in France."

"Now what better way to show an example of why you care about hunger than (by) tipping buckets of pumpkin soup all over a famous painting?" he said sarcastically.

Morgan went amuck with his mockery, as he further said, "There have not been scenes like this involving a pumpkin since last Thanksgiving in (co-host) Brian Kilmeade's house. And it's equally distasteful that these cretins think that they can just go into the hallowed Louvre and do this to one of the great paintings of the world."

Similar protests taking place in Europe

According to the BBC, a group called Riposte Alimentaire (Food Counterattack) claimed responsibility for the incident.

"There are groups like them all over Europe now who have been doing exactly the same thing," stated Morgan, listing, "Ruining the Chelsea Flower Show in London, ruining the Lord's cricket match, which to me personally is the worst sacrilege of all."

"Wrecking people's fun" and "chucking pumpkin soup all over the place" will not make anyone make note of hunger issues in the world, claimed the conservative host. He felt people would be thinking that the food should have been "used to feed hungry people".

"So on every level, they are completely stupid, and they are having the exact opposite effect of what they are supposed to be having," he added.
