Dakota Fanning opens up on working with Kurt Russell as a child, reveals the 'best wrap gift' he gave her
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dakota Fanning has opened up on working with Kurt Russell as a child and also disclosed that the most memorable wrap gift she ever received was from him.
The 30-year-old actress joined 'Ripley' co-star Andrew Scott for ELLE's 'Ask Me Anything' video series, during which she was tasked with revealing the "best wrap gift" she ever received.

"Kurt Russell gave me a horse," the 'Alienist' star said with a laugh, as per People. Scott, 47, joked, "That could be your autobiography [title]. ... 'Kurt Russell Gave Me a Horse: The Dakota Fanning Story.' "
Dakota Fanning on working with Kurt Russell on the movie 'Dreamer'
Fanning explained of working with the 73-year-old actor on the 2005 movie 'Dreamer'. "We made a movie about horses. Kurt is one of the loveliest, most amazing people. You go through an experience together, and I loved working with him so much, and we made a movie about horses, and he gave me a horse," she said.
The movie, which also starred Kris Kristofferson, Elisabeth Shue, and David Morse was about a father-daughter duo who bonded over helping an injured race horse heal.

Dakota Fanning also worked alongside several notable Hollywood stars
As a child actor, Fanning also had the opportunity to work with high-profile stars like Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Robert De Niro, and more. In the ELLE video, she said that she didn't get intimidated by them since it became normal for her.

"Because I grew up familiar with being around people who would be considered 'intimidating' kind of, I think it might've numbed that side of me a little," she said. "When you're eight years old you're sort of just getting to know a person as a person and not thinking about all of the other stuff, you know?"
Kurt Russell apparently asked Dakota Fanning's parents before gifting her a horse
Russell told MTV News in 2005 about asking Fanning's parents for permission to gift her a horse. The outlet reported that Fanning named the animal Goldie, a nod to Russell's longtime partner Goldie Hawn.
"I went to her mom and dad and told her what I really wanted to do was get her a horse. I wanted to make sure that was okay with them — it was a big commitment for the whole family," he said at the time, adding "But I've seen her with the horse and it's a great thing."
