NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Fox News show ‘The Ingraham Angle’, Texas Republican Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick urged President Joe Biden to step aside and not interfere in the border crisis, declaring that he shouldn't "mess with Texas."

Following this news, Fox News host Laura Ingraham took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share her conversation with Patrick.

Many people on the internet shared their views and weighed in on Patrick’s remarks.

Dan Patrick asks Joe Biden to ‘get out of the way’ over border invasion

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X and wrote, “We're not looking for a confrontation, we are looking for them to do their damn job!: Dan Patrick.”

Dan Patrick appeared on ‘The Ingraham Angle’ to share his views on the ongoing battle over the Texas border between the state and the federal government.

Ingraham pressed the lieutenant governor, seeking details on how Texas planned to collaborate with Border Patrol agents or National Guard members from other states following Patrick's earlier statements emphasizing that Joe Biden should let Texas do their “job.”

Ingraham asked, “Would it take the form of perhaps confronting Border Patrol who are trying to get into certain areas? Would it be putting up more of that razor wire or other types of obstructions at the border? What exactly would they be doing?”

Patrick pointed out that there are “lots of jobs” for both Border Patrol and National Guard, stressing that the Texas border spans nearly 1,250 miles, requiring “people everywhere.”

He emphasized the need for personnel across the entire border.

Patrick asserted that Texas was effectively handling the situation and urged Biden to “get out” of the way, stating, "Texas is doing the job." He criticized the President for turning the border crisis into "a political battle."

He said, “Well, we have lots of jobs from the border for people to do. We’re busy at work every day. Remember our border, Laura, for folks who don’t know is longer than the distance between Atlanta and Portland, Maine – it’s 1,250-some miles. And so we need people everywhere.”

Patrick continued, “But let me tell you what we’re doing the job, if Joe Biden will get out of our way, we’ll do the job, we’ll secure the border, we don’t need them. And also, let me say something about this Border Patrol. Border Patrol works with us, the rank and file, every day. We work together like this. It’s Joe Biden who wants to come in and split us apart. For what reason?”

He further said, “We’re doing the job at the State Park. They have no reason to be there, they’ve got 1,200 miles to cover. We’re doing the job. They’re trying to make this a fight. We’re trying to protect our border. We’re trying to protect American lives in Texas laws. That’s what we’re trying to do. And he’s trying to turn into a political battle and turn it into a fight with our state. Well, don’t mess with Texas.”

This came after the US Supreme Court ruled on Monday, allowing the Biden administration to dismantle razor wire installed by Texas officials along the state's border.

The wire had been set up as a measure to impede the flow of illegal immigrants entering the country.

Texas contended that the razor wire effectively slowed down the increase of illegal border crossings.

However, the Supreme Court sided with the Department of Homeland Security, which argued that the wire was hindering Border Patrol agents in carrying out their duties.

Internet weighs in on Texas border issue

Many X users shared their opinions on the ongoing Texas border crisis.

One person wrote, “Yes, we are waiting for the @HouseGOP to do their damn job! Lease effective house in our lifetime."

An X user said, “Logical!  But...  Biden and the puppet masters are illogical!” and another wrote, “BUT------if a confrontation happens DO NOT BACK DOWN!   Secure that border!”

One more person slammed Joe Biden, “I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the Biden administration to do its job!” and another added, “Texas should defy this ruling from SCOTUS.  If the nation cannot defend the state, the state has the right to defend itself.”
