Dana Leigh Mustian: NC mom still missing 2 months after failing to show up at her 6-year-old's birthday party
WARRENTON, NORTH CAROLINA: Authorities in North Carolina are intensifying efforts to locate Dana Leigh Mustian, 33, who has been missing since November 2023 after failing to appear at her six-year-old daughter's birthday party, held in the first week of December.
She was last seen at her Dorothy Drive home in Warrenton on November 30, 2023, around 1.30 pm, as reported by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Ground, water, and K9 searches have been conducted to find Dana Leigh Mustian
Dana is described as having blue eyes, blonde hair, piercings, and multiple tattoos—including the name "Cheyenne" on her left arm with the dates "4-1-15" and "6-22-15."
Subsequent attempts to contact her by phone proved futile, with calls going straight to voicemail by December 3, 2023. Mustian was officially reported missing on December 4.
Despite ground, water, and K9 searches conducted by Warren County police, the mother remains unaccounted for. Both her purse and phone are also missing, adding to the mystery surrounding her disappearance.
"It's like she just disappeared from the face of the Earth," expressed Dana's sister-in-law, Megan Mustian.
Megan added, "She was the life of the party. She knew everybody, everybody knew her. We’ve tried ground searches, ponds, woods, anywhere we could think of. People in the community have just rallied and we didn’t realize how loved and how many people knew her," as per NewsNation.
Reward offered in search for Dana Leigh Mustian
Authorities and cadaver teams were deployed to different areas of the county on February 3. However, as of February 4, Dana had not been located.
"Warren County, it’s very rural. There’s a lot of fields and trees," noted the missing woman's brother, who chose to remain anonymous, in January. He added, "Without more information to help us narrow down where she might be, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack."
Dana's family and friends held a candlelight vigil in January to honor her, and a $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to her whereabouts.
