COLUMBUS, OHIO: Darnell Taylor, 5, has gone missing from Ohio, and authorities are actively searching for him. It is believed that his foster mother, Pammy Maye, 48, abducted him.

Columbus police seek information on Darnell Taylor's whereabouts

A man called 911 on Wednesday at around three in the morning, claiming that his wife Pammy Maye had woken him up and had made alarming remarks that led him to believe that their foster child Darnell Taylor was in danger, according to ABC, which cited the Columbus police.

Maye's husband revealed that she then left the scene in a Jeep Cherokee with their foster son missing from home.

According to WKYC, police, who arrived on the scene at 3.08 in the morning, searched the house and several addresses of Maye's family members and acquaintances where he was not found before sending out an Amber alert for the missing boy.

The Columbus Police have asked for information that might help them locate the five-year-old child who went missing in a Facebook post. Darnell Taylor's foster mother made alarming remarks to her husband Lor and then abruptly left the house in a 2015 Jeep Cherokee early on Wednesday morning, leading police to believe the boy was injured.

Two hours away from the residence in Ohio, authorities reportedly discovered the suspect's abandoned car just before six in the morning. However, Taylor and Maye were not discovered in the vicinity.

The police stated, "The vehicle was located in Brooklyn, Ohio shortly before 6 am, but Mrs Maye and Darnell have not been located. Anyone with information on Mrs. Maye or Darnell's whereabouts is asked to call 911."

Pammy Maye has been accused of kidnapping Darnell Taylor

Darnell Taylor was allegedly wearing Spider-Man pajamas and white boots, while the suspect, Maye, who is described as being 4-foot-9 and weighing about 115 pounds, was last seen wearing a green floral nightgown and pink shoes, according to the police.

Police Chief Elaine Bryant informed reporters during a press conference on Wednesday that they would be grateful for any information that could lead to Taylor's location.

It further stated, "We have no idea what we are dealing with right now, that's why we're asking for the public's assistance. Any information you can give us we'd greatly appreciate it."

According to court documents that HuffPost examined, Maye has been accused of kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child.

Elaine Bryant, the chief of Columbus Police, pleaded with Maye to come forward with the child's whereabouts during a press conference on Thursday, February 15.

“Pammy, if you’re watching this, could you please reach out and contact us? We need to know that Darnell is safe. We are asking you, Pammy, and we need to know you’re safe,” Bryant said.

Bryant reported that Maye's husband is assisting the police in their investigation.
