Before Demetric Hooper was officially accused of a crime, Hooper faced charges for not bringing his daughter back home after he visited with her.

Brittany, who was 14 years old at the time, hadn't been seen since she visited her father on June 14, 2012, as her mother reported.

After Brittany went missing, police kept a close watch on Hooper. They found him at a mental health facility in Arkansas but didn't find Brittany.

At first, he said he was innocent, but later he admitted his guilt and was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2014.

Brittany's mother let her visit her father, but when her father didn't bring her back, the mother called the police. When the police went to Hooper's house, it was empty. They found Hooper in Arkansas, where he was staying in a mental health facility.

The police had a hard time arresting him because he resisted, and it took four officers to put him in the police car. Brittany was still missing. The police found out that Hooper traveled a lot around the Southeast after he disappeared with Brittany.
