Denise Lissette Ramos: Family identifies daughter as Fairfield murder victim, authorities yet to confirm
FAIRFIELD, TEXAS: Denise Lissette Ramos, 22, was the victim of the Fairfield murder, as claimed by her family.
Although the identity of the victim in the murder has not yet been confirmed, the Fairfield Police Department believes that the person's death might have involved foul play.
Officers noted that on March 28 while responding to a call for a welfare check at a residence on 800 Clark Street they found a body.
Denise Lissette Ramos' father says that she was a little too nice
Denise's father, Luis Ramos, noted that she was the type of person who was always willing to smile at everyone. He hopes that the community will come together to support the individual who was always there for others, according to KWTX.
"She’s been beautiful since the day I laid my eyes on her. Caring, she was the type of person who does everything for everybody else. Unfortunately, I think she was a little too nice, sometimes too helpful, but that’s just who she is," said Luis.
According to Luis, who served in both Afghanistan and Iraq as a Marine Corps veteran, there is no greater challenge than burying your own child. He further remarked, "There’s something missing, you can feel it. There’s an emptiness, a hole that will never be filled and I know that I’ll never feel the same again."
Although the distraught father claims he wasn't given all the information, he is aware that Denise went out drinking on March 27 with a few friends; however, the group eventually separated.
He continued, "I do know that they said they did leave her alone and some people were supposed to stay there and look out for her. I know a lot of people who say they’re her friends there but they’re really not. A lot of people used her and let her down and failed her. It really could have been prevented."
Luis clarified that Denise's supervisor at the Holiday Inn in Fairfield decided to contact law enforcement regarding a welfare check because the 22-year-old failed to turn up for work on March 28 and wasn't responding to any calls.
Denise Lissette Ramos' parents aim to send her off in a positive manner
To cover the costs of Denise's memorial and celebration of life, the family decided to launch a GoFundMe campaign. According to Luis, the family wanted to send her off in a more upbeat manner because she was such a positive person.
He expressed, "Regardless of who it was, she was always trying to make somebody smile, she was always trying to make somebody happy. We’re trying to do a celebration of life for people to get together and talk about her, family, and friends."
"The times we live in now, you have to be cautious with everybody, including friends. We have to look out for each other more often, a lot of things could have been prevented," stressed Luis.
As per the GoFundMe page, Denise's funeral is on April 27.
