‘Do I look like a monster to you?’: Natalia Grace shares her 'side of the story' in new documentary
LAFAYETTE, INDIANA: Natalia Grace, who was accused of being a sociopathic adult masquerading as a child by her adoptive parents, has spoken out in a new documentary series.
She denies the allegations and claims she was abused and abandoned by her former family as she has shared her side of the story.
Natalia Grace denies trying to kill her adoptive parents
In the trailer for the upcoming six-part series 'The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks' which will premiere on January 1 on ID Network, Natalia Grace confronts her adoptive father Michael Barnett.
“I was never in y’all’s room with a knife,” Natalia, 20, tells Michael who responds, “I know what I saw.”
Natalia then says, “In every lie is a hidden truth, but you’ve got to dig enough to be able to see it. They’re not going to get away with this. This is my side of the story. Do I look like a monster to you?”
Michael and Kristine Barnett claimed Natalia was an adult posing as a child
Michael and Kristine Barnett previously shared their claims in ID network’s 'The Curious Case of Natalia Grace' which premiered in May.
The former couple explained they believed Natalia was six years old when they adopted her in 2010 from Ukraine, but soon suspected she was much older and had a rare form of dwarfism.
They alleged that Natalia tried to harm them and their three sons and that she had a sophisticated vocabulary, menstrual cycles, and pubic hair.
They also claimed that a doctor confirmed Natalia was at least 18 years old in 2012 and that they legally changed her age and moved her to an apartment before fleeing to Canada.
Natalia Grace wanted to know who she was and what happened to her
Natalia Grace, who now lives with a new adoptive family in Indiana, previously said she is frustrated and shocked by the accusations and wants to tell her truth.
"Its very frustrating to hear everything that’s being said from Kristine and Michael because I already don’t know who I am, and I want to know who I am, what happened to me,” she said.
In the teaser clip, obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Natalia said, “But I’m hearing all this stuff that never actually happened from Kristine and Michael.”
Michael was found not guilty of three counts of neglect and conspiracy to commit neglect of a dependent in 2022, as per the Associated Press report. In March, charges against Kristine were dropped, according to WTHR.
The docuseries will also feature a sit-down conversation between Michael and Natalia. 'The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks' will premiere across three consecutive nights on ID beginning Monday, January 1, as per People.
