NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News contributor Dr Marc Siegel joined co-host Pete Hegseth on the January 21 episode of 'Fox & Friends' to talk about a warning issued by the Milford Regional Medical Center in Massachusetts.

According to Hegseth's report, the center has warned that they "may refuse future care to patients who violate their inclusion-based code of conduct."

"The policy stating, 'Some violations may lead to patients being asked to make other plans for their care.' For serious or repeated violations, future non-emergency care and visitation rights at Milford Regional may require review," said the anchor.

Dr Marc Siegel claims the warning to be unforeseen

"I have never seen anything like this," began Siegel, responding to the issue. "It's a huge warning, Pete… It's a slippery slope."

"Because we are taught to treat all comers. We are taught to not evaluate our patients," he explained. "Can you imagine evaluating a patient whose body language is off when they are in pain?"

"When people are in pain, they are howling… They may have a poor tone of voice. At least half of my patients would grumble at me… and I'm gonna say, 'Sorry, take your sore throat elsewhere, your blood pressure - it's probably high from waiting - but sorry, I'm not going to treat you.' It is a really, really bad idea," he continued.

Marc Siegel blames 'Big Brother' for the move

Addressing administrative interference in the middle of the doctor-patient relationship, Siegel claimed, "This probably comes from Big Brother looking over doctors and telling us how to behave."

"We can't talk to someone the wrong way, God forbid we ever curse in a medical encounter. We are always under scrutiny. Now they have gone so far that it is ridiculous. Now the patients are under scrutiny, (they) have to be evaluated."

"The last thing I want is a patient to worry about how they are speaking to me, Pete. It's an expression of how they are feeling, which is what I need," he added.

Fox News reportedly reached out to the Milford Regional Medical Center for a quote, to which they responded, "This measure is in response to the growing number of acts of violence and aggressive behavior toward healthcare workers."
