Elisabeth Moss' musician father Ron Moss dies 'peacefully' at 79, family pays tribute to 'rich life'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ron Moss, musician and ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ star Elisabeth Moss’ father, died at the age of 79, on Thursday, January 18.
The actress’ father breathed his last peacefully on Thursday after a brief battle with an infection, per TMZ. The outlet reported that he was in Clearwater, Florida, during his death. His death was peaceful and he was surrounded by his family members.
Ron Moss’ grandson pays tribute to his grandfather
Max, Ron’s grandson and the executor of his estate, informed about his death to the news outlet.
Max paid a heartfelt tribute to his grandfather, writing, "Ron made so many friends throughout his rich life and we want everyone to know that you all meant so much to him. Thank you for everything that any of you did for him throughout his life."
Life and legacy of Ron Moss
Ron was born and raised in the United Kingdom. He later relocated to Los Angeles, California, where they brought up their children - Elisabeth and Derek Moss.
Professionally, he was a trained musician as he used to play trombone for jazz bands.
Apart from playing trombone, his connection with music goes deeper, as he served as the manager for celebrities including American jazz pianist and composer Chick Corea and American singer-songwriter Isaac Hayes. Corea also became the godfather of Elisabeth.
Ron was a Scientologist like his daughter and performed in gigs with Scientology leader David Miscavige.
Elisabeth Moss reveals her plans for having children
While Ron Moss' grandson Max is the executor of his estate, the 'Mad Men' actress has different plan for her future children.
During an interview with You Magazine in 2022, per Hello! Magazine the actress was asked about her plan for having children. To the question, she replied, "I definitely want to have kids because I’ve been very inspired by the kind of mother my mom is. She did a beautiful thing with me."
She further joked, "And then I’ll give the child to my mum and she can raise it because she’d do it very well!"
However, she has two cats Ethel and Lucy, who accompany her during her trips. She shared, "I'm away for seven or eight months of the year," before adding, "Having them with me makes a place feel more like home."
