Who's who in the Ton: A look at the new cast members of 'Bridgerton' Season 3
'Bridgerton' is back with Season 3, featuring several familiar faces along with a few new ones. In Season 3, the developing friendship between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) takes center stage, although the first four episodes also introduce many other plot threads. Let's take a look at the newest characters taking the spotlight in 'Bridgerton' Season 3 while fans eagerly await Part 2, which will be available on Netflix on June 13.
Hannah Dodd as Francesca Bridgerton
Hannah Dodd makes her 'Bridgerton' debut as the second-to-youngest Bridgerton sibling, whilst Francesca Bridgerton has been a part of the show since Season 1. In Season 3, she is selected as Queen Charlotte's "sparkler" of the year and attracts the attention of the Earl of Kilmartin and the Marquess Samadani. Hannah joins the popular Netflix series to play Francesca following Ruby Stokes' two seasons as the character's main actor. Hannah also had appearances in 'Anatomy of a Scandal', 'Enola Holmes 2', and Marvel Studios' 'Eternals', per The Direct.
Victor Alli as John Stirling
Season 3 introduces Victor Alli as John Stirling, the Earl of Kilmartin, who happens to be Francesca Bridgerton's romantic interest. The first time viewers see this new character is when Francesca leaves the ball to have a moment by herself. The two strike up a cozy quiet and quickly establish a bond when she runs across Stirling, who is likewise looking for some alone time, per BuzzFeed. 'Bridgerton' marks Alli's largest role to date. His previous credits, however, include a few brief parts in the films 'Andor', 'Belfast', and 'Death on the Nile'.
Sam Phillips as Lord Alfred Debling
Sam Phillips portrays the recently developed character Lord Debling, who is a suitor for Penelope. Much to the dismay of Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen), who is vying for Debling's attention, he and Penelope are somewhat into each other. Debling is prepared to ask Penelope to marry him until her feelings for Colin become obvious. Phillips gained recognition for his work on hits like 'The Crown' and 'Far From the Madding Crowd' prior to his work on 'Bridgerton'.
David Mumeni as Lord Samadani
David Mumeni's Lord Samadani, a close ally of the queen, is brought to London with Francesca Bridgerton. In an attempt to find the Bridgerton sisters the ideal match, Queen Charlotte calls her acquaintance Lord Samadani from Vienna. Samadani has seven brothers, like Francesca, but he aspires to have a big family of his own eventually, while Francesca enjoys being alone. Mumeni's past projects include 'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw', 'The Huntsman: Winter's War', and 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout'.
Hannah New as Lady Tilley Arnold
Free-spirited bachelor Benedict Bridgerton gets into an affair with Hannah New's character, Lady Tilley Arnold, this season. In 'Bridgerton' Season 3, Episode 2, Lady Tilley Arnold makes her debut as Benedict Bridgerton's new romantic interest. Having lost her husband at an early age, Lady Tilly is a firebrand widow who has survived financially off of her ex-husband's estate. Though she has previously acted in 'Under the Bed' and Disney's 'Maleficent', New is best known for her role as bartender Elanor Guthrie in the Starz series 'Black Sails'.
Daniel Francis as Lord Marcus Anderson
Violet Bridgerton meets Lady Danbury's brother, Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis), in the first few episodes of Season 3. Francis portrays Lord Marcus Anderson, a member of London's elite society known as the Ton. He debuted in 'Bridgerton' Season 3, Episode 2, playing Lady Danbury's (Adjoa Andoh) brother. Francis has previously appeared in 'Stay Close', 'Small Axe', and 'Once Upon a Time' on ABC.
James Phoon as Harry Dankworth
This season introduces viewers to Prudence Featherington's (Bessie Carter) new spouse Harry Dankworth (James Phoon). Harry possesses striking good looks, but he lacks some genuine knowledge. Currently, he and Prudence are attempting to get pregnant, primarily due to pressure from Prudence's mother, Portia. Phoon's previous roles include those in 'Wreck', 'Pariah Nexus', and the video game 'Evil West'.
