MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: In a recent interview for American broadcaster CBS, Meghan Markle revealed she has "only scraped the surface" when it comes to talking about the dark thoughts she's had in the past.

The Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, launched 'The Parents Network' on Sunday, August 4, to assist parents who have lost children due to social media, either directly or indirectly.

In her address, Meghan discussed the impact of cyberbullying on young children and how her personal experience linked her to these families.

Following the interview, body language expert Judi James claimed that Meghan sought Prince Harry for "support and strength" while addressing her own suicidal thoughts, Daily Mail reported.

Meghan Markle reveals her experiences of past suicidal thoughts

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were interviewed for a new episode of 'CBS Sunday Morning' on August 4 by Jane Pauley.

The prerecorded feature, which aired on Meghan's 43rd birthday, talked about The Parents Network, a new initiative run by the Archewell Foundation to assist parents whose children have experienced tragedies linked to social media use.

The initiative is now accessible to parents in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada following a two-year pilot experiment, People reported.

In her speech, Meghan addressed the impact of cyberbullying on young children and how her personal experience connected her to these families.

Pauley questioned Meghan during the conversation over her choice to be transparent about her own thoughts of self-harm.

Meghan—who has previously discussed the "bullying and abuse that I was experiencing on social media and online"—said she saw a "through-line" between her experience and that of kids who are harmed by inappropriate situations they come across online.

"When you've been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey — certainly part of mine — is being able to be really open about it," Meghan said.

The Duchess of Sussex added, "I really scraped the surface on my experience, but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way and I would never want someone else to be making those sort of plans and I would never want someone else to not be believed."

"If me voicing what I have overcome will save someone or encourage someone in their life to really, genuinely check in on them and not assume that the appearance is good so everything is OK, then that's worth it. I'll take a hit for that," Meghan stated.

Meghan Markle sought 'support and strength' from Prince Harry

Body language expert Judi James claimed that Meghan Markle sought "support and strength" from her husband Prince Harry while addressing her past experiences with suicidal thoughts.

Meghan placed her hand on Harry's knee as she expressed her hope that by talking about her mental health issues in 2021, she may help others who are struggling with suicidal thoughts.

During a previous interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, the Duchess of Sussex had stated that she "just didn't want to be alive anymore," per People.

James told FEMAIL, "This gesture could serve more than one purpose. It looks like a seeking for support and strength from Harry as she shares her own experience of 'suicidal ideas'."

"But there is a wariness about Harry's head tilt and the way he watches his wife's face that could mean she [touched him] as a reassuring tie-sign to let him know she's okay discussing her 'healing journey'," James added.

James added that the couple gives "deeply warm greeting hugs that we normally see shared between close family members" when they approach the grieving parents.

"Meghan walks in to meet the bereaved parents first while Harry is a pace behind here and we can see their ongoing penchant for the kind of deeply warm greeting hugs that we normally see shared between close family members," the body language expert further added.
