'Extreme Weight Loss' star Brandi Mallory's autopsy report sheds light on cause of death
STONE MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA: 'Extreme Weight Loss' alum Brandi Mallory, who went from 329 lbs (149 kg) to 178 lbs (80 kg), died at the age of 40 on November 9 in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner recently released the completed autopsy report, revealing that Mallory's cause of death was complications of obesity. The manner of death was listed as "natural," with no evidence of significant recent injury and no signs of foul play, as per PEOPLE Magazine.

Timeline leading to Brandi Mallory's death
Mallory was last seen on November 8, as captured by surveillance footage at a local Chipotle. The subsequent investigation revealed that she entered the restaurant, retrieved her food, but never left.
Concerns were raised when a nearby deli owner noticed her vehicle in the parking lot the following morning, with Mallory inside, appearing unresponsive. Tragically, Mallory was pronounced dead on November 9.
The autopsy report also mentioned trace amounts of marijuana and alcohol in Mallory's system, but these substances were not identified as contributing factors to her sudden death.

Brandi Mallory's family and friends mourn her loss
Chris Powell, former 'Extreme Weight Loss' trainer and host, expressed his grief over Mallory's death, describing her as "a bright, shining light for everybody around her."
He emphasized Mallory's positive impact on the body positivity movement, citing her openness about her weight struggles and her ability to inspire others to embrace and appreciate their bodies.
'Extreme Weight Loss' co-star Kim Williams Maxile also wrote a heartfelt post for Mallory, saying, "Rest in Love sis. To my fellow Extreme Weight Loss @extweightloss sis, @brandimallory you will be missed. I’ll never forget while I was at boot camp for season 5 we watched your season and it inspired us to keep going."
She added, "You truly made an impact on this world with your zest and your passion for body positivity. I’m blessed to have gotten to experience you in this world."

The news of Mallory's passing sent shockwaves through her community, prompting friends and family to gather on November 20 in Stone Mountain to bid their final farewells.
A public viewing occurred on November 19, followed by a funeral at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tucker, Georgia. Mallory was laid to rest in Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain.
