Teen terrifies spring break crowd as he brandishes gun during brawl on Florida beach
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA: A 16-year-old teenager was arrested after brandishing a gun and sprinting through a crowd during a chaotic fight on a Florida beach amid spring break.
The accused, identified as Felixander Solis-Guzman, was observed engaging in a brawl with four individuals on the crowded beach before drawing a firearm, as depicted in bodycam footage.
Significantly, on Friday, March 15th, Solis-Guzman was charged as an adult and transferred to Volusia County Jail.
What happened on Florida beach after teenager pulled gun?
According to Dailymail, deputies encountered the teenager brandishing a gun during a fight amid spring break festivities.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers pursued Soliz-Guzman as he caused bystanders to scatter, with one person shouting, “He has a gun.”
The officer capturing the incident on camera can be seen chasing after the teenager with his firearm raised, shouting, “Alright mother f***er, drop the f***ing gun.”
Despite attempts to evade capture, Solis-Guzman continued to flee towards the ocean, with officers in close pursuit.
He also waded into the water up to his knees, where he remained standing for several minutes.
At one point, five officers were observed with their firearms drawn, aimed at Solis-Guzman as he stood at the water's edge on the beach.
After several minutes, he began to cooperate with officers, discarding the weapon and a bag into the water before surrendering.
What are charges against teenager after flashing gun?
Deputies retrieved the firearm and bag from the water, which contained 20 small plastic baggies of marijuana.
The teenager faced multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement officers, possession of a firearm by a minor, improper exhibition of a firearm, commission of a second-degree felony with a weapon, resisting arrest, two counts of tampering with evidence, and the sale of marijuana.
In addition to these charges, he was apprehended for seven active no-bond warrants from Orange County, which included charges of robbery with a firearm and probation violation.
After processing at the Volusia Family Resource Center, he was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
State Attorney RJ Larizza stated, "This 16-year-old brought drugs and a gun to Volusia County during spring break. He will now face adult charges and serious consequences for his reckless actions. We welcome spring breakers,so long as they behave themselves"
Sheriff of Volusia County Mike Chitwood emphasized, "We aren't playing around in Volusia County, Don't let your child be the next to come here as a juvenile and end up an adult facing serious criminal"
