TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA: The fourth GOP debate being moderated by Elizabeth Vargas, Megyn Kelly, and Eliana Johnson in Alabama has set the stage on fire as Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy are pitted against one another once again and Donald Trump continues to remain absent.

Despite Trump’s absence, he and his poll numbers were mentioned by Kelly during the debate, and a question around the same was posed to the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis. DeSantis had his answer prepared as he shut down any claims about polls ahead of the Presidential elections.

Megyn Kelly brings up polls and Donald Trump

During the fourth GOP debate in Alabama, Megyn Kelly started the debate by posing a question to Ron DeSantis, as she first noted, “Nikki Haley is beating you in New Hampshire and South Carolina now, and closing in on you in Iowa, not to mention Trump, who is not only dominating in the early states but is beating you in Florida by over 30 points.”

Circling back to her question, she asked, “Is it fair to say as Senator Tim Scott did when he dropped out, that voters are telling you, not no, but not now?”

Ron DeSantis was more than prepared with his response and said, “So we have a great idea in America that the voters actually make these decisions, not pundits or pollsters. I’m sick of hearing about these polls.”

He continued, “I remember those polls in November 2022, they said there was going to be a big red wave, it’s going to be monumental. and that crashed and burned. The one place it didn’t crash and burn, was in the state of Florida. They weren’t predicting that I would win the way I did.”

Internet calls Ron DeSantis’ take on polls ‘relatable’

Following Ron DeSantis' remarks on polls in response to moderator Megyn Kelly in the fourth GOP debate, the internet was quick to pour in with responses.

One user slammed Megyn Kelly as they wrote, “And.. out of the bat @megynkelly goes all in on the bulls**t polls and asks a hostile question to Ron DeSantis.”

The person further added, “Giving the way she simps for Trump this was not surprising. Ron DeSantis gives a great answer,” and another also said, “Ugh @megynkelly are you kidding me with the polls ! Go @RonDeSantis tell her how ridiculous how these polls are.”

“"I'm sick of hearing about these polls" is the most relatable thing Ron DeSantis has ever said,” wrote one user. Another said, “Ron DeSantis comes out swinging, takes on the garbage polls and Haleys record. #DeSantis2024.”

People continued to show support for DeSantis after his response as one wrote, “We support Ron DeSantis to be the president. America time for change,” and another wrote, “Vote ron desantis next president. america time for change. thank you.”
