LONDON, ENGLAND: Former Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell reportedly felt "extremely humiliated" following the leakage of numerous intimate texts allegedly sent by her husband Christian Horner to a female employee on Thursday, February 29.

Friends of Halliwell recently revealed to the Daily Mail that the former musician believed the scandal surrounding her Formula One boss husband had subsided after his company, Red Bull GmbH, cleared him of all suspicions on Wednesday night.

However, her friends now fear that the resurgence of the scandal through the leak of nearly 80 screenshots of text messages between Horner and his female employee could "destroy" his wife.

Geri Halliwell is feeling ‘extremely humiliated’ by the latest scandal

Halliwell’s friends fear that the latest scandal will “destroy” the singer as she had belief in her husband. One of them even shared, “All along Christian promised there was nothing in it.”

After Red Bull confirmed on February 5 that they were conducting an independent probe against Horner, who was accused of "inappropriate behavior," Halliwell continued to support her 50-year-old husband.

On Wednesday, February 28, the motorsport executive was even cleared of all the wrongdoings leading Halliwell to feel “so very relieved,” according to her friends.

However, Halliwell's friends are now concerned about the repercussions she may face following the leak of the chats.

The extensive collection of text messages leaked via an anonymous email account includes WhatsApp conversations ranging from ordinary to intimate and also contains some images.

The screenshots were sent to several journalists along with the stalwarts of Formula One including FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem and F1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali.

However, the leak has left Halliwell's friends worried for her well-being. They expressed, “Geri has been living in this happy, happy bubble for so many years now, she thought she had her prince and her knight in shining armour but now this.”

Regarding Wednesday's investigation outcome, they remarked, “She thought that it had all gone away, she was delighted and over the moon when she learned Christian had been cleared.”

“Geri was pilloried when she got together with Christian because he had just had another baby with another woman but she has worked hard to rid that image of herself and Christian, and in particular that she is a homewrecker,” continued the friend.

However, they highlighted that everything came "crashing down" again, explaining, “The tears stopped when the judgment came in on Wednesday, now they absolutely will have started again. This will destroy her.”

Friends also emphasized that throughout the investigation, Horner consistently assured Halliwell that he was not involved in any of these matters, stating, "All along, Christian promised there was nothing to worry about."

After the scandal, it was reported that Halliwell was "mortified and angry" with her husband, whom she married in 2015. However, she remained determined to navigate through the scandal.

However, the latest development came “crashing down” again. One of the friends said, “Geri is no fish wife but she finally got the man she wanted and she won't want to let him go. This could end up being a big dilemma for her.”

Christian Horner releases a statement after the leak

After the leak, on February 29 Horner shared a statement where he denied the allegations. He said, “I will not comment on anonymous speculation, but to reiterate I have always denied the allegations.”

Horner continued, “I respected the integrity of the independent investigation and fully cooperated with it every step of the way.”

“It was a thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister, and it has concluded dismissing the complaint made. I remain fully focused on the start of the season,” continued the embattled Formula One boss.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Red Bull “dismissed” the grievances against Horner after a rigorous independent investigation.
