MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Stephen Colbert had a field day on Wednesday, poking fun at House Republicans for initiating an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden without any concerete evidence.

The 'Late Show' host couldn't resist pointing out Rep Troy Nehls' (R-Texas) statement about wanting to provide Trump with ammunition, creating a scenario where they could claim Biden had also been impeached.

Colbert, with his trademark humor, captured the irony of the situation and the apparent lack of a solid foundation for the inquiry.

Biden's impeachment: 'Unprepared kid for class presentation'

He began the show saying, "Republicans have voted to approve an impeachment inquiry into president Biden even though they admit there is no evidence to impeach him"

Colbert, in his witty style, dubbed the impeachment inquiry a "brilliant plan" to "level the playing field."

He cheekily outlined the absurdity, suggesting that Trump should now resort to scandalous tactics like having Biden spanked by a porn star, orchestrating Capitol attacks by his followers, and, in the ultimate jest, making Biden dance in a manner reminiscent of Trump's own unique campaign rally moves.

He said, "Now he just has to have Biden spanked by a porn star, have his followers attack the Capitol and worst of all have him dance like this".

Colbert's then said, "Guys, guys, come on. That’s kind of step one!”, highlighting the irony and absurdity of the situation but it doesn't end there.

The host then noted that during a committee hearing, Democrats attempted to scrutinize the specifics of why Biden is facing impeachment. However, the attempt to uncover substantial grounds for impeachment seemed to be met with little success, as the "well was dry".

He defined the Democrats' unsuccessful scrutiny as "vibe of a kid who clearly didn't prepare for the class presentation".

Colbert goes on to say, "You know the GOP's case sucks because even some of their most highly paid idiots aren't buying it if they have the stuff".

President Biden declares the accusations as 'lies'

According to The Guardian, the US House of Representatives has taken a significant step by voting to initiate an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

This move, driven by Republican leaders since their midterm election victory in 2022, alleges personal financial gain by Biden and his family during his tenure as vice-president under Barack Obama, despite the absence of concrete evidence.

President Biden, in response, decried the accusations as "lies." While no evidence has been presented, these developments mark the beginning of a process that could potentially result in the impeachment of the president—a consequential outcome.

Furthermore, Republicans are leveling accusations against President Biden and his family, specifically targeting his son, Hunter, for allegedly profiting from his tenure as vice-president through business ventures in Ukraine and China.

Congressional investigators have amassed nearly 40,000 pages of subpoenaed bank records and extensive testimony from crucial witnesses.

Despite raising ethical concerns, these investigations have yet to yield any evidence of corrupt actions or bribery by Biden in his current or past roles.

The lack of concrete evidence adds complexity to the accusations against the president and his family.
