WASHINGTON, DC: Using the commander-in-chief's real estate holdings as possible evidence, former President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday, February 20, that President Biden had personally benefited from his first son Hunter Biden's international business ventures.

At a town hall meeting in Greenville, South Carolina, the front-runner for the GOP made the charge in response to a question posed by Fox News host Laura Ingraham regarding his response to those who maintain that there is no proof that Joe Biden benefited financially from his 53-year-old son's influence peddling business.

While incorrectly stating Biden's income, Trump said, "Well, he’s got a lot of houses all over the place and he’s never been paid more than $179,000. He’s gotten a lot of money. Hunter’s gotten a lot of money. Hunter gets millions of dollars just for sitting on a board, an energy board, and he admits that he knows nothing about energy."

Hunter served on the Burisma Holdings board for five years. In April of 2014, as his father took over as vice president of the United States, Hunter was paid up to $1 million a year by this massive Ukrainian energy company.

Biden receives a $400,000 annual salary in his capacity as president. Biden made almost $235,000 a year while serving as Obama's vice president for eight years. Additionally, Biden's highest salary in his 36 years in the Senate was over $169,000 in 2008.

However, throughout the years he served as vice president and president, from 2017 to 2019, Biden received substantial payments for speaking engagements and book sales totaling more than $16.5 million.

The president presently owns two properties in Delaware: a 4,800-square-foot vacation property in Rehoboth Beach that he paid $2.74 million for in 2017 and a 6,850-square-foot mansion in Wilmington that he bought for $350,000 in 1998 and is reputedly valued at least $2 million.

Moreover, for an estimated $20,000 a month in 2017, Biden rented a 12,000-square-foot home in McClean, Virginia. The president has long been under pressure from House Republicans spearheading the impeachment investigation into his suspected participation in his family's business dealings to produce his bank records as evidence that he did not profit financially from the enterprise.
