One such recent phenomenon involves actor Josh Hutcherson and a peculiar whistle meme that has taken the Internet by storm. The actor addressed this unexpected fame during a recent appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'.

During the interview, Fallon couldn't help but bring up the viral meme, saying, "You're very much all over the Internet, the Josh Hutcherson memes."

Hutcherson, with a good-natured smile, responded, "Yeah. The whistle edit meme. Do you guys know it?"

The audience erupted in cheers and applause, signaling that indeed, they were familiar with the viral sensation.

"Forget making movies," Fallon jokingly advised, to which Hutcherson added, "Don't make movies. That's it. If you're on TikTok, if you're a star, you got it. You got it made." The actor acknowledged the power of the Internet in catapulting individuals to fame.

Curious about the impact of the whistele meme on his daily life, Fallon asked, "Do people come up to you on the street and sing Flo Rida to you?"

Hutcherson revealed, "I had no idea it existed, and then my girlfriend posted it." 

Hutcherson's insight into viral phenomenon

Amused by the absurdity of the situation, Fallon probed further, asking, "It has nothing really to do with you...whistling or anything?"

Hutcherson clarified, "No, no. The Internet wins again." 

Hutcherson then described the origin of the meme, explaining, "These photos are some edit of, like, a montage of photos that somebody did in 2014, and they put it to a song, and now it's like a Rick Roll, basically."

The reference to a 'Rick Roll' implies that unsuspecting viewers are led to believe they are about to witness one thing but are instead treated to the unexpected appearance of Josh Hutcherson's face and the infamous whistle sound.



 

Reflecting on his introduction to the meme, Hutcherson shared a humorous anecdote, saying, "My little brother and his boyfriend actually sat me down during the holidays and were like, 'Okay, you don't live on the Internet. We need to explain this to you'."

The actor acknowledged the creativity and oddity of social media culture with a smile, stating, "And they are very creative, very odd, and I'm here for it."
