FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA: 'Sister Wives' star Garrison Brown flaunted a new cat on social media on Friday, March 1, only five days before his tragic death by suicide at the age of 25 in his Flagstaff, Arizona, home.

With an Instagram following of over 67,000, Garrison—the son of Kody and Janelle Brown—frequently shared photos of his pets with his fans under the username @robertthebrown.

Garrison seemed "to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound," per Flagstaff police, who spoke with TMZ after they were called to his residence regarding a death. According to the outlet, Garrison's brother Gabriel discovered him dead in his residence.

Garrison Brown was proud pet owner and animal lover

Garrison was an animal enthusiast and proud pet owner; in recent years, he shared several pictures of his cats on social media. On March 1, he shared his latest Instagram post where he was pictured with his third-ever cat, per Daily Mail.

"Newest edition to my home, Ms Buttons," Garrison wrote in the caption. "She’s 9 years old and was on the line for euthanasia but my savior complex couldn’t suffice. #crazycatlady."

Garrison—born Robert Garrison Brown—was well-known for posting cute pictures of his cats on social media. Two of his cats are named Patches O'Houlihan and Catthew, and it has been reported that he assisted a local shelter, per OK! Magazine.

He has shared several pictures and videos of his cat, Catthew, on January 16, 2022. "I have a Son!" he said. "Im thinking of naming him Catthew, but I am taking considerations for names so leave some suggestions below."

On December 11, Garrison presented his second cat Patches O'Houlihan in several photos that also featured his mother Janelle holding the animal. "Meet Patches O’Houlihan, I stole her from a cave and she wont stop whispering ancient Sumerian texts to me," he remarked in the caption.

Garrison posted a picture of himself on December 25, 2022, sitting in a leather chair and holding both of his kitties. He wrote in the caption: "A family portrait, DISCLAIMER: Catthew was forced to take this photo," as the sweet Christmas Day photo was labeled.

Garrison Brown was discovered dead in his house by his brother Gabriel

According to the Flagstaff Police Department's Lieutenant Charles M. Hernandez II, said, "On 03/05/2024 Flagstaff Police officers responded to a report of a death inside a home," per PEOPLE.

The FPD verified that Gabriel, Garrison's 22-year-old brother, "discovered Mr. Brown deceased" in what appeared to be a suicide.

"At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating," Lt. Hernandez added in the statement.

On Tuesday, March 5, afternoon, Janelle, 54, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on behalf of the family. Janelle wrote: "Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him."

"His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory," she added.

TLC said in a statement to PEOPLE: "We are devastated to hear of the tragic loss of Garrison Brown. We extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the Brown family at this difficult time."

Devastated fans praised Garrison for his act of kindness

Fans who were devastated by the young man's unexpected death thanked him in the comments section for his deed of kindness.

"Rest in peace Garrison. Absolutely heartbreaking. Thank you for saving this kitty before you left. Heaven just gained an Angel," wrote one user.

A second one said, "If anyone knows what cat rescue organization Garrison worked with, please share the name so we can all donate in his honor."

"Garrison - It was an honor watching you grow up on TV. So many strangers loved you so much and are heartbroken today," added a third one.

Another one added, "RIP Garrison, you had such a beautiful soul. I never thought I could be so sad over someone I’ve never even met before but I feel that’s the impact you’ve left on a lot of us."
