WASHINGTON, DC: During a recent White House briefing, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy referred to President Biden as "President O-Biden," mistakenly mixing up the sitting US President with his Democratic predecessor, former President Barack Obama.

According to The Hill, Doocy was questioning National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby about an alleged conflict between President Biden and Vice President Harris over the administration's response to the Israel-Gaza war.

The mix-up caused a brief commotion in the briefing room, with Kirby and other members of the press corps laughing at the slip of the tongue.

Doocy quickly corrected himself and proceeded to highlight the significance of the story for Fox News.

However, Kirby swiftly dismissed the notion, stating that the story was only significant for Fox News and not other media outlets, implying media bias.

What was Peter Doocy referring to in his question to Kirby?

The initial report on the Kamala Harris story was published by Politico on Thursday, which claimed that the vice president urged the president to exhibit more public concern toward Palestinians in his response to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

However, the White House has outrightly rejected this story, with representatives from both the offices of President Biden and VP Harris stating that there is no disparity in their opinions.

Kirsten Allen, Harris’s press secretary, wrote on X, “As I told Politico a week ago, ‘there is no daylight between the President and Vice President nor has there been,’ and media should be cautious and discerning about including anonymous ‘sources’ who are not privy to their private conversations.”

In his exchange with Doocy on Thursday, spokesperson Kirby reaffirmed the point, “Last I looked, the vice president is part of the White House. She’s part of the team.”

“If she wasn’t offering her advice and counsel to the president on innumerable issues, then it would be a story,” he added.

“We’ve already pushed back on the premise of the story that there’s some sort of daylight between her and the president.”
