MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: Holly Marie Combs recently opened up about the final months she spent with her 'Charmed' costar Shannen Doherty before her death on July 13.

The two collaborated on the podcast 'The House of Halliwell' alongside fellow cast members Brian Krause and Drew Fuller. Combs, 50, shared in the latest podcast episode that Doherty believed she had more time left despite her prolonged battle with cancer.

“That's one of the saddest parts to me is that she was really looking forward to this,” she said of the new podcast. “And she was actually really looking forward to watching the episodes with Rose [McGowan]. And one of the last times I was with her, we actually watched the first two episodes together like we were freaking teenagers again.”

“And, we sat in her office and watched the episodes together before we recorded this,” she shared. “I've had a little bit of time to reflect on that and everything worked out.”

Reflecting on their plans, Combs became emotional, stating, “I think she did as much as she could in the time that she had but, we did think we had more time."

"That’s the really sad part. We had big, big plans for this year, and she didn’t think she was going anywhere anytime soon. It sounds terribly cliche until it happens to you.”

Combs also shared how Doherty's unexpected passing impacted her deeply.

“I want everyone to know she was super happy to be here and she was really happy to watch it again with fresh eyes as she kept saying,” she shared. “And she became a fan. She watched it like an audience member.”

Fuller added, “She had all these incredible plans, talking about building a new house in Tennessee and possibly moving to Italy. Her energy felt like she was going to be here for as long as we were.”

“She was going to outlive us all,” Combs responded. “When things took a turn, it happened very quickly. It was shocking, even though she had a terminal disease. She wanted to do so much more than her body allowed.”

On July 20, Combs shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, featuring photos of her and Doherty over the years, set to Faith Hill's 'There You'll Be.'

Combs captioned the post, "It's been one week and it feels like forever. I spent all day looking for one particular picture and found just about every picture but that one. Shannen promised to haunt me but I thought she'd be occupied with a few others at first. Alas, I'm sure it will show up when and where I least expect it. My rock. 10:18."

Shannen Doherty spent final days recording 'Charmed' podcast

Shannen Doherty dedicated her last week to reminiscing about her early days as Prue Halliwell on the beloved series 'Charmed.' Doherty, who portrayed the eldest Halliwell sister, brought a practical and responsible demeanor to the show, anchoring the dynamic trio of sisters with her straightforward attitude. Her character, Prue, was a counterbalance to her sisters' more carefree personalities.

In a heartfelt introduction to the July 15 episode of the 'House of Halliwell' podcast, former 'Charmed' co-star Brian Krause reflected on Doherty's sudden death. Krause, deeply moved, shared his sentiments about Doherty's extraordinary talent and untimely death.

"I come to you this evening with a heavy heart after learning the news of Shannen Doherty’s passing just yesterday afternoon," Krause stated. He emphasized the impact of Doherty’s talent and presence, saying, "I know all of us here at the House of Halliwell, iHeart media, social media, all over the world are shocked, devastated. Too young, too talented, too loving, too grateful, too early."

Krause expressed his gratitude for Doherty's involvement in the podcast, highlighting her dedication to the show and her fans. "Shannen will dearly be missed and we are so honored that she had come on with us, or, had us along with her on this new incantation of the House of Halliwell."
