HOUSTON, TEXAS: On December 16, a disturbing incident occurred at a luxury apartment complex in Houston, Texas. JaMaiya Miller, a 25-year-old Amazon delivery driver, was brutally assaulted by two White residents while attempting to drop off a package, as reported by New York Post.
Miller had been buzzed into the building and was heading to the designated unit when one of the women who let her in suddenly accused her of being a “thief” and said that she shouldn’t be there. The woman then proceeded to place her hands on Miller, who pleaded “don’t touch me.”
Another resident threatened to call security, to which Miller responded "please do." However, instead of saying she would call security to help Miller, the woman shouted that she would call security on Miller herself. The first woman then pushed Miller against a wall, hitting her with a phone in a terrifying attack.

Building's doorman defused situation and escorted JaMaiya Miller out
A doorman eventually arrived on the scene of the two women accosting Miller. He was able to defuse the situation and get Miller away from her attackers. Shaken, Miller called the police to report she had been assaulted inside the building during her delivery route.
The Houston Police Department has said its Major Assaults Division is investigating the incident and will interview all parties involved. Findings will then be presented to the District Attorney’s office over possible criminal charges for the White women.
Miller managed to take a video during part of the encounter, which she posted to social media. The disturbing footage shows the women yelling racist accusations, with one seen shoving Miller against a wall.
Miller wrote that the woman "spewed racist tropes, like I was a thief, and hit me several times ... I have never experienced such racist, Karen, behavior. It was so off the wall, but also completely on brand with how white women have historically weaponized their privilege."
Amazon and Belle Meade apartments respond to JaMaiya Miller incident
Amazon told local media they are supporting Miller and cooperating with law enforcement. They have policies allowing drivers to avoid unsafe situations.
Management of the luxury Belle Meade apartments sent a statement saying they aim to provide safety and hospitality. They claim packages should be taken to the concierge desk, though Miller said her instructions were to directly deliver to the resident's unit.
The building management said they are investigating how Miller accessed private areas and believes a resident let her onto an elevator accidentally. They have declined further comment due to the ongoing police investigation.
