Jenna Bush Hager admits to getting ‘gaslit’ by daughter Mila

On December 28, during an appearance on ‘Today’, Jenna Bush Hager humorously recounted an incident involving her 10-year-old daughter, Mila.

According to her, during a video chat, Mila playfully taunted her by brandishing a fresh batch of queso.

The mother fondly recalled the moment, emphasizing that her preferred meal consisted of queso paired with beans and tortillas.

She told co-host Hoda Kotb, “I recently had an occasion where my eldest child, who will remain nameless because she doesn’t like me to talk about her — she gaslit me via FaceTime.”

She continued, “I was traveling with my sister and (Mila) was mad because when we traveled on our book tour, we went to Taco Cabana. She loves queso, and so she made her own queso, her mother’s famous recipe, and she FaceTimed me, and she was going like this."

During her account, Hager playfully imitated Mila's actions, portraying the scene of her daughter leisurely lifting queso-filled chips to her mouth and relishing every bite.

Hager added, “Then when I would say, ‘Here’s Auntie Barbara,' she would move (the queso) out of the way. ‘Oh, Auntie Barbara I love you so much, I don’t want to tempt you.' And then I would get on the phone and she would move it over and just go (mimics eating the chips)."

Kotb teased Hager adding, “You totally got gaslit.”

Hager further shared. “I got gaslit. I get gaslit at least once a day. 'I told you I didn’t want the humidifier on!' You just told me you wanted the humidifier on. I just try not to react. It’s hard."

Jenna Bush Hager shares Mila’s unique personality

Earlier last month, according to Hager’s on-air storytelling, Mila possesses a determined personality.

Hager, who is also a mother to daughters Poppy and son Hal with her husband Henry Hager, shared an amusing anecdote about Mila's persistence in requesting a debit card.

Despite multiple refusals, Mila went the extra mile by creating a PowerPoint presentation to make her case.

Hager told Kotb, “We had said no. And we had said no. And we had said no. And then she did a PowerPoint presentation."

She revealed that the PPT included, “why she was responsible enough now, and what chores she would do, and how she wanted to learn how to save and how she wants to buy presents for her siblings at Christmas on her own.”

“And at the end, Henry, who's a pretty conservative spender, said, 'Okay, Mila. You've earned it,'” Hager said about her husband.

Kotb chimed in adding, “That’s such a good life lesson,” as Hager agreed saying, “She did it on her own.”
