Infowars founder Alex Jones and his wife file for divorce, request restraining orders against each other

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Alex Jones, the embattled Infowars founder drowning in debt from his defamation cases, is now facing another personal crisis.
Alex, 51, has filed to end his seven-year marriage to Erika Wulff, citing "discord or conflict of personalities," according to court documents submitted in Texas. The filing, made on September 9, 2024, was soon followed by a request for a temporary restraining order against Erika, which a judge approved on September 20, Page Six reported.

Erika Wulff, 46, later filed her own divorce petition and sought an emergency restraining order in March 2025. Alex Jones responded days later with a motion to seal the case records.
The couple, who share one child and have a prenuptial agreement, have yet to make public statements regarding their split.
Alex, once a dominant voice in far-right media, has been steadily unraveling both financially and personally. In October 2022, he was ordered to pay nearly $1.5 billion to the families of Sandy Hook victims after spreading false claims that the 2012 school shooting was "staged" and "completely fake with actors,” even though it resulted in the loss of 26 lives.
Only later did he finally acknowledge that the event was "100 percent real." His relentless promotion of conspiracy theories claiming the tragedy was a "hoax" led to years of harassment for grieving families.

The fallout has been brutal. Facing insurmountable debt, Alex declared personal bankruptcy in December 2022.
This is not his first divorce. His first wife, Kelly Jones, divorced him in 2015 and later won joint custody of their three children in 2017, arguing that her ex-husband’s erratic behavior made him an unfit parent. She has publicly described him as "mentally ill" and "a danger to society."
Alex Jones allegedly spied on Erika Wulff and Kelly Jones
According to multiple sources who spoke with Rolling Stone, Jones used a network of informers and private investigators to track the movements of his ex-wife, Kelly Jones, amid their bitter custody battle. The texts also suggest that he employed a former Blackwater mercenary to monitor his current wife, Erika Wulff, as recently as 2020.
Kelly claims he has stalked and harassed her for years.
"Alex is obsessed with me, has had me followed for years, has done everything to infringe on my liberties and personal freedom to impose himself into my life," she told Rolling Stone.
Sources say that during their multi-year custody dispute, the conspiary theorist relied on a ragtag "spy ring" to track Kelly’s movements. She fears that the extent of this surveillance could be even more invasive than she realizes.
Kelly described her life as a "gauntlet of waiting for his next nefarious or disingenuous or overtly threatening move." "I’m not surprised to find out that he’s engaged in this activity. I would really like to find out the extent to which this has occurred, (and) if it’s even legal," she added.
