LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It seems the eloquent praise from Scooter Braun for Taylor Swift, five years after their explosive feud, has come too late.

The pop icon, who has made headlines for her recent achievements, reportedly feels no need to acknowledge Braun’s comments, despite his unexpected gesture, according to insiders.

In a recent interview, Braun referred to Swift as an artist you can “always bet on", but sources close to Swift suggest that the superstar has long moved past their conflict, as per Daily Mail.

Scooter Braun showers praise on Taylor Swift

Scooter Braun, the former music executive behind some of the industry’s biggest names, recently extended what many are interpreting as an olive branch to Taylor Swift.

During an appearance on 'Bloomberg Screentime', Braun, 43, praised Swift, calling her the only artist you “can always bet on".

When asked which musician he would choose if he were starting a new company, Braun responded, “Taylor Swift".

Braun continued by emphasizing Swift’s resilience and success. “She’s someone who, no matter what, will always be present, always do whatever it takes,” Braun said.

His compliments came during a conversation where he discussed his shift away from music management and his new role as CEO of HYBE America, the South Korean entertainment conglomerate.

Despite the seemingly kind words, sources say Swift has no intention of reacting.

“Taylor has moved on and doesn't need to acknowledge Scooter's praise,” a source told DailyMail.

The insider added that Swift has focused on reclaiming her work and career over the past five years.

“Taylor's influence on the music industry is evident, and Scooter knew it when he sold her albums for $300 million,” they said.

The source emphasized that Swift is aware of her immense impact and success, regardless of what Braun says now.

Tensions between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun began in 2019

For those unfamiliar with the long-standing tension between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun, it all began in 2019.

That year, Braun made headlines when he purchased Big Machine Records for $300 million, which included the rights to Swift’s first six studio albums.

This acquisition shocked Swift, who claimed that she had been blindsided by the deal. Swift publicly shared that she had tried to negotiate the purchase of her own masters, but found out about the sale only after it had been finalized.

Swift’s frustration boiled over in a now-infamous Tumblr post, where she accused Braun of “incessant, manipulative bullying".

In her statement, she called out both Braun and Big Machine founder Scott Borchetta, stating that they were aware of the consequences of the sale.

“Controlling a woman who did not want to associate with them. Forever. That means forever,” Swift wrote in her scathing post.

As the dispute unfolded, Swift vowed to take action by re-recording her old albums to regain control of her music.

The move was widely applauded by her fans and marked the beginning of her 'Taylor's Versions' project, which has since seen her re-release albums like 'Fearless' and 'Red'.

These re-recordings have been hugely successful, further cementing Swift’s influence in the industry.

Meanwhile, Braun’s business dealings evolved as well. Two years after purchasing Big Machine, Braun sold his company, Ithaca Holdings, along with Swift’s catalog, to HYBE for a staggering $1 billion.

Even though Braun has since moved on to other ventures, his relationship with Swift has remained strained.
